Charge 3 screen went blank

Got this yesterday and the screen is already black and won’t turn on. Very very disappointed, looks like it’s a common issue. I’d rethink getting this, a shame it’s so common for the anticipation of this...

I have had the issue of my screen getting dim and I tried your instructions.  What should I do next?

Good question.  Still awaiting a response from an expert cause NOTHING  worked for me.  If you figure it out or find out, please let me know.  Thanks

Terrible and expensive item that does not work! Don’t buy waste of money! I purchased a cheap 50 dollar one and has lasted longer with no problem. Charge 3 or any Fitbit is garbage

Unfortunately,  I purchased it May of 2019.  Had I known then what I know now, I would never have purchased.  I had a different one before the charge.  Only lasted 2 years.  That should have been my first sign to not buy another one.  Live and learn.

My 2 year old Charge 3 is still blank, although fully charged and responsive about everything but the screen.  Have tried rebooting and changing faces multiple times in the past few days.

What next?

I have no solution. I won't buy another Fitbit device as this problem has been ongoing for a long time with no help from them.Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Just got the newest update for the Charge 3. Finding out, that I can set the silent alarms only on the device now, not anymore on the cell phone.

Who had this inconvenient, unpractical idea?

Bring it back into the app,

I had the same exact problem - I spent days trying to get the watch to reboot but it apparently never did.  Then when the latest firmware was offered I thought that might do the trick as the watch would have to reboot in order to install the firmware.  Sure enough, upon installation the watch rebooted and has been fine ever since.

Reset didn’t work, tried several times.
Changing clock face didn’t work either, tried several different ones.

I owned two fibits charge 2 and 3. I wish I would have known all this before purchasing also bc I wouldn't have spent that kind of money on a tracker I have to continuously fix.

An update on my experience.  Like so many others I could not get the watch to reboot.  Once a firmware update was offered my watch did reboot and after that I could reboot using the button trick.

However, all was not well after this.  Sometimes the display is half off of the screen.  Other times it goes black and I have to reboot to get it back (this happens often when I am exercising).  I suspect that much of this has to due with the battery losing significant power.  I now have to charge the unit every other day and on the second day weirdness starts to happen.  I was just out of warranty - fitbit gave me a 35% off discount code so the cycle will continue.
