Charge 3 screen went blank

Got this yesterday and the screen is already black and won’t turn on. Very very disappointed, looks like it’s a common issue. I’d rethink getting this, a shame it’s so common for the anticipation of this...

Charge 3 screen went blank yesterday and only a month old. I had to return my first one because it would not charge. I synced it this morning and it shows my steps and my sleep, but still blank. I have tried putting in in the charger and holding the “button, actually pressing the side, as no button on the Charge 3. Vibrates a couple of times but no screen. What is next? Return it for the SECOND time?

I’ve had repeated problems with the Charge 3. Charge 3 must be an
Inherently flawed design. FitBit has not offered to replace mine which is
now sitting in a drawer unuseable.

I’ve gone back to my Charge 2 which still works.

The fix helped me get my screen back but it seems o be a fairly common problem. I was lucky it happened in the morning before I left for work. Would hate for it to have been after I left and had no screen all day.

After about 6 months of use, my Charge 3 stopped charging. Got a replacement about an hour ago. Synced it, then the screen went blank. Fitbit is now sending *another* replacement, this time "overnight," which really means two days (waited a WEEK for the first replacement). 

 

If this second replacement fails, I'm moving on to another brand. I loved my Charge 2; not willing to deal with the ongoing glitches of the Charge 3 beyond this. Fitbit has been pretty solid on the customer service, though the incredulous person I talked to today seemed to question a *second* failure at first. You and me both, lady.

Thank you, I just had this same problem and your solution of re setting it worked. I can now get back to loving my Charge 3.

My fit bit 3 has been working great for two weeks. Not recording my sleep patterns but I am assuming that this is because I am very restless in bed.

However this morning it recorded nothing over to my phone re steps,  even though it was sync,  then on checking the screen was frozen. 

Did as told ie connect to charger and hold button etc, but now have black screen. Helps I love my new device

I’ve had the same problem repeatedly since I got the Charge 3 in October.  The resets discussed in this forum worked until the last time. 

 

Fitbit is replacing the unit. Unless the new unit is bug free, I’m going back to the Charge 2.  I’ve been wearing it since the latest glitch and had forgotten how hassle feee FitBit use to be. I especially like being able to see my steps easily by lifting my arm.  I was never able to do that with the Charge 3.

Thank you very much for your quick response. I have a two year cover on my Fit bit 3 with the store. It is going back today for a replacement unit. I'll see how that goes. The one I have is only 24 days old and until 10.00 last night I was happy with it.

Wanted to update my message as Fitbit has now offered to replace my Charge.  While it’s been down, I’ve been wearing my Charge 2.  It’s been a pleasure to return to this older, problem free friend.

Glad to hear you are having success . Same here. Been back to the store and
they have replaced my Fit bit 3 with a new one and updated my 2year
warranty with a new one starting today 🙂 smiles all around as long as it
works .

Just had to reset my charge 3 it did work but disappointed that this needed done! Have took it off when swimming just in case so was gutted the screen was blank today good job I found this.

I tried the fix and it worked. However if it happens again, I'm returning it. I've only had it a couple weeks.

Took mine back to the store today and had a new one. Since I only had the
other one for 24 days they re started my two years guarantee from today.
Got the new one up and running 🙂

Thanks for getting back to me. Took it back to the store I purchased it
from yesterday. They were very good.
Replaced it and also replaced the two year guarantee from yesterday. See
how this one goes.

Didn’t work for me. Still got blank display, but it’s has charge as it is still vibrating with notifications. This and it’s inability to recognise flights of stairs is not great
