Charge 3 screen went blank

I've had my Charge 3 a little over a month. Last night my screen went blank. It was at 100% battery. It is still syncing with the app so I can see that it is still tracking my steps and sleep, etc. When I tried to restart it by placing it on the charger and holding down the side button for 8 secs. When I hold the button down it does a very quick pulse vibe about 4 times and then nothing. I've tried holding it longer than 8 secs also and still nothing. Very frustrated to be having this issue with a brand new product. Contemplating returning the one I bought my husband for Christmas and returning mine as well if not resolved immediately.

I have the same problem and will try your fix when I get home. 

 

In light of the fact that several people have had this issue, Fitbit should look into the problem.  It is frustrating because I use this as a watch as well.

Thank you everyone.  Got help by twitter, email and later phone.  I too am being sent a replacement.  It is happening to many of us and agree they need to look at why it is occurring.

I have just had this problem today - only had my device 2 weeks!  The fix worked but I am now worried it is going to keep happening.  There is obviously a fault with the Charge 3.  Has anyone who has had a replacement had any further problems?

I've tried this, but it's still a black screen. Yesterday the fitbit died and now won't charge or sync with my phone or iPad. I also did an update about a month ago. My fitbit charge 3 is almost 1 year old, so now I need warranty service.

I hate to tell you but that did not work for mine at all. My screen has been black for a week. The reset does not work

My Fitbit died yesterday. It won’t charge even after cleaning the contacts, as they suggested. No response if left to charge for 30 minutes and it won’t sync either. It’s completely dead now after the week of a black screen. I tried all the restart fixes several times and clock face change as well. Fortunately, it’s still under warranty for 3 more weeks! They are sending me a new one.

I’ve tried all the trouble shooting tips to reset and nothing. I get smiley faces or vibrations. I can even sometimes see the screen while on the charger. The minute I take it off the charger it goes blank again

Followed this thread as I am facing the same issues with my Charge 3 ( screen blank/black). I tried the steps you mentioned above without seeing a positive outcome although it has been syncing and recording data.

Alright. I just did a chat with Fitbit and explained everything about the black screen. They had me do the reset again but now they are sending me a new Fitbit cause the reset didn’t work. Do the chat thing and get a new one😄

My fitbit charge 3's screen went blank. Like others have said it seems to be still tracking and vibrates as if doing something, but no display. I searched for a solution and found this older post. I have repeated the sequence above and am not solving the issue. Please help.

Contact customer service. They will give you a new one if you are within 1
year of purchase. I did and my new one is working. Good luck.

You can do a chat with costumer service. They will probably have to a reset as I’m sure you Alex have and that didn’t work. They will then send you a link. Fill out the form with your information and they should send you a new one. That what I did and I’m getting a new one on Thursday

My charge 3 has done the exact same! Still vibrating when I touch it but wont show anything, the steps and sleep still tracking,  cant find anyway to fix it

Try holding down the button while charging, since I did this and it’s been a while I haven’t had any problems, I also sync it everyday, good luck
