The Charge 3 display when to black after 1 week of usage. FitBit app cannot synch nor see it, even though there was 60+ % of power the previous night. Kept in charger to see if it can be charged or reset, but unit would vibrate, then nothing.
I've actually had it display FitBit 100, but reset caused it to return to black screen.
This is the second Charge 3 I've had in the recent month and both have ended up in this condition. Is there any solutions to this issue? I see a lot of other frustrated owners with similar issues and it seems to be related to the last firmware update. Is there a fix on the horizon? And if so, how can I even update the firmware if the unit cannot be detected by the FitBit app?

Hi @jacl, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that the screen of your Charge 3 won't turn on and it won't sync with your phone. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.
Please try a long restart. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:
Finally, monitor your tracker and see if the screen comes back to life and it syncs your data properly
Keep me posted on the outcome.

After failing to charge, the Charge 3 actually was functioning properly, only to fail again after a full charge. I believe at this point that there is a short in the unit, since it started to vibrate then heat up. The heat was sufficiently hot that it left a slight welt on my wrist where the extruded plastic portion of the Charge 3 made contact with my wrist. It continued to vibrate and heat up til the unit fully discharged.
At this point, I don't think it is safe to use this unit anymore.
