Recently upgraded to the charge 3. Battery life is abysmal. I'm barely getting 2 days life out of a charge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

On average I get about a week at default level. Ive since changed the screen to dim (only put it on normal when outside) where now i think i get close to 2 weeks now. Also have screen awake OFF (long press button to change)

I'd do a factory reset if not done already, thats all fitbit will give you in terms of "help"

I've turned off wake and turned off notifications and all day sync.

I've done the reset solution (reset 4or5 times)

Still barely getting 2 days out of it.

Very frustrating.

Just another idea, (again... if you havent done so already) try charging it in another device/port.

I have a power board with a USB charge port that is usless! it shows charge but my devices do not hold it very well after use. I charge mine in a PC USB3 port which seems to do good.

My charge 3  was on Day 4  50% batery life and  4 weeks later whit full charge  a day later had 55% batery life. I think that you have a dead batery. I self have returnt my fitbit charge 3 foor a new fitbit.

Welcome on board @Moopdooper! Thanks for already troubleshooting this issue about the battery life on your Charge 3. Nice way to go!

I'd recommend restarting your Charge 3. Then, let your device to run out of battery to charge it again. Keep an eye on it to see how the battery goes. You can also see, Can I improve my Fitbit device's battery life?

As a side note, we recommend to charge your trackers via the USB port over a wall adapter. However, it is also possible to charge your Fitbit tracker with a UL certified wall adapter. What may actually cause damage to the tracker's battery (either on a computer or a wall adapter) is the charging time, which if excessive over time may damage the battery and therefore cause quick battery drain or prevent the tracker from charging at all.

Tips to best charge Fitbit trackers are:

  • Use only genuine Fitbit charging cables
  • Use only UL-certified wall chargers
  • Avoid USB battery packs
  • Charge at room temperature

For charging purposes, your charging cable can be plugged into any USB power source, including but not limited to:

  • A computer
  • A Wall A/C to USB adapter, commonly found with smartphones
  • A DC to USB adapter (vehicle power port)

It's nice to have a new member around, welcome @SunsetRunner! We're glad to hear you have a new Charge 3. 😉

Thanks for the Thanks so much for your help @Svensin

I'll be around, keep me posted.

Thank you for the replies. I've reset it again and will now let it drain completely and see what happens. I only ever charge via the USB 3 port on my pc. Hopefully this works, I'm thinking I might take it back to the place of purchase for a refund or exchange

Thanks for posting your issues regarding battery life on the charge 3. I was looking at buying one but after reading about your difficulties with your’s  and also the many other problems with the charge 3 on this forum, it’s clear that the product isn’t ready for prime time.  I will look into a different lifeline or perhaps just get an Iwatch and be done with it.

I especially like how this issue is “solved” by sending you another one. Fitbit should have never sent the flawed one in the first place. Customers are not supposed to be a manufacturer’s Quality Control dept.

I am having the same issue and need help.  I have had the fitbit for about 2 months, it just recently updated and now will not hold a charge for more than a day.  It used to last almost 7 days.

Thank you for your help @MarreFitbit, is there anything else we can do?  I have attempted a rest as suggested.  The unit appears to not be working at all now.  When plugged in, the unit just gets very hot, and it will not turn on.  I am using the charger that came with the unit and have it plugged into my computer.   I just appears to be dead now.  I appreciate your help.
