I have a Charge 3. Up until about two weeks ago call notifications consisted of the Fitbit vibrating and showing who was calling. Now all of a sudden when I answer the call my Fitbit vibrates again a second time and says “Active Call.” For some reason this really annoys me, I don’t need to be notified of an active call, I know I’m on the phone obviously.
There is not an option to stop this, just turn off call notifications all together. I don’t want to do this as I still want to be noticed of an incoming call and who’s calling. Is this happening to anyone else? And does anyone know how to turn off JUST the “Active Call” notification without turning off all “Call” notifications?

That doesn't do the job as you say. It just turns off those notifications. The issue is that you should be able to have the proper notifications on and clear those notifications from your FitBit without that ending the phone call.

Problem with turning off "Messages" under Push notifications is that you also don't get the notifications that you want. For me, I just want to turn off the "active call" notification. I don't need to be notified that I am on an active call. I know because I'm the one on the phone. Anyway, just me.

This seems to be an iPhone-only issue and some have said that it started with an iOS update. It may be that the phone sends notifications of active calls and the Fitbit doesn't know how to distinguish between useful call notifications (there's an incoming call and the phone is ringing) and annoying ones (you're currently speaking on the phone and I'm going to remind you of that every few minutes just in case you're not aware that you're currently speaking on the phone). Apple doesn't have a great history of caring if its iOS changes destroy the function of other products connected to the phone, especially not if Apple sells a product it thinks you should buy instead.

And, to be clear, Fitbit still needs to find a way to stop delivering this notification, no matter how uncooperative Apple may be.

Is there an update on this issue? I just got a Charge 5 for Christmas and the active call notifications come every 1 minute on calls I initiate.

Update: Fitbit has known of the problem for more than two years, but still doesn't care enough to fix it. Obviously, if a Fitbit can display the text of the "active call" notification, simple code can be written to not display or vibrate for any notification that includes that text. Even if it doesn't happen to all customers using iOS phones, there is literally no downside to creating such a rule. No sane person wants their Fitbit to vibrate every 15 seconds or so to alert them to the fact that they're currently speaking on the phone.
Possibly effective short-term fix: I followed some instructions I found somewhere, restarted everything, made some small sacrifices to the gods of annoying technology, removed my Charge 5 from my Fitbit app,and reinstalled the Charge 5. I think the problem went away for a while, but I have it again. So, it maybe worked for a while?
Definitely effective, but inconvenient fix: When you're on a call and your Fitbit starts to notify you of that fact, take it off and hurl it away from you violently. When you're done speaking, go look for your Fitbit. The inconvenience of this fix is obvious, especially if you're out running and have to go back to look for the thing or if you're in a gym with large people who don't enjoy having electronic devices hurled at them for no obvious reason.

I do have an option now to go to the Fitbit notification and push 2 buttons "Enc Call" or "Clear". With Charge 3, I only have "Clear" and when doing that, the call ended.
Now I hit "Clear" and the notification.... comes back again but... less often?

Nah. They don't care.
I'm not a programmer and haven't programmed anything more complicated than a spreadsheet with some "if" operators in a few decades, but I could probably write some clumsy code that would eliminate this profoundly counterproductive notification. If they cared, they'd fix it.
