Charge 3 showing error 001

So my dad was complaining that the heart rate monitor wasn’t working and then all of a sudden the Fitbit logo popped up with a 001. This is a Fitbit Charge 3. I tried charging it and the screen does not Change.

UPDATE: It just started having a heart attack. The screen went blank, and the buzzer is pulsing incessantly. I can't get it to stop, although it sounds like it's starting to slow down. Is this the end of my Fitbit? Has anyone else's done this?

Mine has done the same thing yesterday.  I’m still trying to get it resuscitated.  So far I am very disappointed in the Fitbit.  As this is a corporate initiative, I and others will be escalating this to our leadership, although I suspect some of them are also experiencing the same issues and are well aware the product is very buggy.

Hello. I have the same 001 error. Yesterday and this morning my Fitbit was stuck on a neverending cycle of buzzing and vibrating and showing the same screen blinking for the awake and notifications. I have a Charge 3 and now it wont even come on. I am so beyond frustrated. Who can help?

UPDATE: The incessant buzzing slowed until the entire battery was drained. I plugged in the device and it immediately came up with the smiley face (which felt a little stabby, but whatever). It took some trying to get the button to stay pressed long enough for a hard restart as was recommended by earlier moderators, and once it did, it seems like everything's okay. But now I feel like I'm just waiting for this error to happen again. Do we know what causes it? Is there something I can do to keep it from happening again? I'd love to hear from a moderator on next steps since this error seems to be a big issue.

I finally got it started again and it seems to be working.  I’m hoping I don’t have to go through the resetting process again.

My charge 3 is also showing an error of 001 and won charge. What does this mean? Please help.

 I have oke up in the middle of the night and I tried looking at the time but it just showed me the logo abs 001 tried charging it nothing happened. Tried syncing it to my phone said tracker not found.

I actually chatted with a representative from the Fitbit website and they had me do a series of things but the Fitbit would not perform. They sent me a new one and I received it about two days later through fedex .

The Charge 3 does not have a button so these instructions are not applicable. I see that many people in this stream have been sent to the support team. Can you please post whatever instructions the support team is providing for Charge 3?

All of a sudden charge 3 .. same message .. won’t reset .. help please

I called Fitbit, if the rest does not work it cant be fixed and they were aware of that and sent me a new one out after just 3 minutes n the phon.

I'm struggling with getting my Charge 3 back on bluetooth--  I've decided to let the battery run down and then recharge because none of the fixes above are working.  I'm surprised at how dependent I am on this stupid piece of technology.

So I have read about half the 001 Club error code complaints.  However, I have not seen any success stories?

 

Next step for me is to call in a  work order to customer service.

I finally got mine back online-- I did all the stuff that people suggested and when that didn't work I just let the battery run down.  That little fitbit symbol runs it down pretty quickly-- like overnight.
I then just put it back on the charger and got the smiley face, two hours later it was fully charged and I re-did the "set-up a device" and so far it has been working great.  Good Luck-- it is so frustrating when technology let's us down.
