I got the charge 3 last Tuesday. Every other day when tracking sleep, it would show sleep stages or sleep patterns (I want to see only sleep stages). Starting this Monday, it only shows me sleep patterns.
I only track at night, so I am sleeping +3 hours when I track. I've also tried restarting and updating / synching, but nothing has helped. I've also tried tightening / loosening the band and I know I don't move much in my sleep.
I'd only like to see sleep stages - any suggestions? Thanks!

@Rudytun3s It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that you are not getting your sleep stages information, just patterns. Thank you by the way, for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums. I would like to know a couple details that will help me to assist you accordingly: Does your phone have the most recent app version installed? Is your app displaying any error message explaining why your sleep stages are not showing? Are you using the "Begin sleep now" option?
Looking forward to your response!

Im in my 5th week of Charge 3 use, and must say it is fabulous! It is certainly improving my fitness and giving me all the information I need.
Yesterday morning it showed my sleep pattern for the previous night. I had just downloaded the latest update, and wondered if that was a result. But this morning my sleep was shown in stages, as it had been for every previous night. I wonder why? I prefer the stages but the pattern was interesting. Is there some way of being able to look at both for the same night?
Incidentally, can we be told what the updates we are invited to download are actually all about?
Thanks for a great product and useful support!

I have the same issue, yesterday I saw my sleep pattern instead of cycles for the first time. I looked at the "solution" and I don't see how I can incorporate it into my issue. I don't think that I downloaded anything new...

I don't use the "begin sleep", but I never have and it has always worked before.

My husband and I just got Fitbit Charge 3’s. His sleep shows graph in sleep stages and he can scroll through different graphs on his iphone 7. My sleep is only showing in sleep pattern and there is no ability to scroll them graphs. We set our watches up about the same time. I want to be able to see sleep stages on my iphone 6 plus. What’s going on? This is our first experience with fitbit. Thanks.

Same here, I got my Fitbit charge 3 last week. I only saw the sleep patterns once and now I only see the sleep stages and can’t find the patterns anywhere . Has anyone figured this out yet ? My daughter has the Fitbit Ultra and both show up on her phone without any issue.

Having same problem since new update came out in Dec. 2018. Owned and tracked sleep stages since Nov. 2013 and I know what I'm talking about. Something changed in new update and I only get sleep patterns now. Have not seen a solution to correct this and it appears to be a software issue.

I had to uninstall the app on my phone a couple of times until it started to work. Also, reboot the device by going to settings>about>Reboot device. That seemed to do it. You may have to resync. Hope this helps.

I also don’t get sleep pattern. Where would I be able to see it and what does it tell you?

The Charge 3 tracks your sleep if worn to bed. The information about your sleep is shown on the phone or desk top app giving you in-depth information about your sleep stages.

From reading previous posts I see that Fitbit shows you only sleep patterns when it couldn’t accurately read your heart rate because your device wasn’t on your wrist tight enough.

Why are so many having problems getting sleep stages on their charge 3? We should not have to jump through hoops to get it to work. I believe that there is a problem with the firmware. If you have a low bpm heart rate, the charge 3 does not pick up the sleep stages. I now have my charge 3 for 3 weeks and have never received sleep stages. I have tried everything suggested to me by fitbit to no avail. Am very disappointed because I upgraded to the charge 3 to get sleep stage info. This needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP.

I have tried everything that is discused on this forum to get sleep stage info on my Charge 3. None of it has worked. Am very disappointed and will send it back to Fitbit if it does not get fixed soon. This should not be happening.
