Charge 3 shows a red light and the battery drains fast

I am trying to get help with my Charge 3!

I have rebooted, restarted etc. The device worked for a few days after i first rebooted it -but now it won't do anything but drain the battery.

The green light I usually see under the Fitbit is not there. There is only a solid red (bright) light on the bottom of the thing- and it drains the battery in no time.

I am sick of this! You've already replaced it once. Do i have to ask you to replace it again?

I am about to give up on Fitbit. There's got to be a tracker that is more reliable than your product.

The original purchase was from Macy's.

Thank you.

Hi @333Hiker, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear about the battery draining issue that your Charge 3 has experienced. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

Please try a long restart. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.
  8. Set up your tracker from scratch

After this, try the tips that are listed in this help page in order to improve the battery life of your Charge 3.

Finally, monitor your tracker during the next 24 hours and see if the red light disappears and the battery doesn't drain fast.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I tried this. To no avail.

I give up.

I just bought a new Charge 4 because I'm fed up with this unreliable device.

That doesn't really seem fair, does it?

I have been a loyal Fitbit user since 2015. I'm too tech impaired to learn how to use a different brand of tracker. I guess you are going to keep turning out the same garbage that you have been. And i'll continue to be another sucker who keeps buying it!

The LEAST you could do is give me some kind of rebate for the new Charge 4 i just bought (order #1003019716920)

I’m having the same problem with my charge 3. The battery drained quickly within 1 hour of full battery level. I bought it from PC World in Ireland but living in UK now. This has been causing stress for me. What should I do again.
