Charge 3 shows exclamation mark when battery level is at 18%

I am now getting an exclamation mark on my Charge 3 when the battery level drops to 18%. There is no warning given previously that the charge is low and so my Charge 3 needs to be charged immediately. Is this a software issue or a problem with the battery?

Welcome on board @colincam This is expected behavior, it indicates that you have 1 day of battery life yet. You should be able to dismiss it by pressing the button.

Thanks. I'll try that when it goes down to 18% next time. This must be a new feature as it has never happened before.

Hi just received a replacement charge 3. I have charged the watch, however I keep getting the battery exclamation sign. I can not update the replacement as it keeps telling me the battery is low, even when it is plugged in. When I unplug it, it is dead. What’s the solution?

Welcome to the Community Forums @Pete-31! Thanks for reporting the set up issue with your Charge 3 replacement.

While reading your post I was wondering if the mobile device you're syncing with is included in our list of supported devices? You can see the list at: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

I've taken the time to review your support case and it seems that you cannot setup your Charge 3 due to you had an Ionic prior to receive the Charge 3. Note that you can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit App Gallery to one account. For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, and Fitbit Versa series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time.

If you've not done so, I'd suggest to try the following:

  1. Remove the old device from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Remove the old device from your Fitbit account
  3. Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use.
  4. Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  5. Setup your Charge 3 as a replacement.

Give this a go and let me know the outcome. Woman Very Happy
