A few months ago my Charge 3 got the SO2 update in a way I'm describing as 'silent' i.e. the feature just suddenly appeared - there was no banner on the Fitbit app screen for a firmware update, and indeed my firmware version remains static still at 28.20001.63.5
I'm curious to know how what would surely be a major feature upgrade using additional hardware of the device (the red LED) didn't require a formal lengthy(?) firmware update?
There's more - a few weeks ago I noticed that the low battery icon started flashing constantly when my battery was below 19%, rather than being static. Again this happened without a firmware update, and I thought it was a great enhancement as the flashing really drew my attention to it. A few weeks later, and the feature disappeared i.e. back to the non flashing low battery icon. Again firmware version has not changed. How do new features get implemented, silently as described, or via a firmware update or both methods?
On a final note, it's been over a year since the last firmware update on the Charge 3, so I'm hoping for an option to display the day of the week on the clock faces (in place of the month) and more clock faces e.g. the larger 'Pendulum' analog face that's on the Charge 4 (same screen resolution as Charge 3, so easy to implement?) It would make my day along with the thousands of other Charge 3 users 🙂
