Charge 3 sleep information inaccurate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my Charge 3 for a week after losing my One. I was amazed that it logged sleep accurately for the week without pressing any buttons.

But last night, though I slept through the night, it logged 2 sleep stages; from 11:40 to 1:27 and then from 2:33 to 7:09. I actually slept from 11:40 to 7:09. I tried to edit but that didn't work. What could have happened and how can I fix it? My wife assured me that I did not sleep walk.

Welcome to the Community, @CRM50.

Thanks for troubleshooting this sleep issue. If you are having problems with this information, I recommend trying the following:

  1. Make sure to not take off your tracker during the night.
  2. Do you remember being awake during the night? If yes, that solves it! Keep in mind that if your tracker will detect if you are awake and will stop the sleep tracking process. If no, proceed to step three.
  3. Restart the tracker. See instructions in the help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?.
  4. Confirm that the tracker is snug on your wrist (with an HR tracker, the lights shouldn't be visible).
  5. Try sleeping with the tracker on your non-dominant hand.
  6. If the setting was set to sensitive, please switch it to normal.
  7. If steps 1-6 do not solve the issue, I suggest manually editing the sleep log to reflect the time slept. See instructions in the article: How do I change my sleep history?.

Let me know the outcome. 🙂

Thanks for this information, Alejandra.  I think I complied with all requirements for sleep tracking and I tried to edit my time. I got a message that the system won't let me make the change. The tracker was on my non-dominant hand, snug on my wrist and set to normal. I thought I slept well without waking. I did not try to reset the tracker, as I don't think tracking was the problem - the Charge 3 simply stopped tracking sleep for one hour.  It didn't even assume I was awake.  Sleep was tracked normally on all days before and after this event but I can't imagine what happened.  I will post again if the issue continues. Thanks again.

It happened again last night. Almost identical results.  I went to sleep at 11:42 PM and woke at 7:04 AM the next day. The Charge 3 logged me in from 1142 until 1:25 AM.   Then it logged me in at 2:31 AM and said that I woke at 7:04 AM. More than an hour of sleep unaccounted for. I don’t understand why. Also, oddly enough, both events occurred on a Monday night. I’m guessing that is just coincidence.

Has anyone else experienced this or have an explanation for why the Charge 3 would stop logging sleep for an hour and then begin logging again? I’d love to understand this better and try to fix the problem. BTW as before I cannot edit the time I slept. Charge just won’t let me do it.
