My fitbit charge3 says that "sleep not tracked", but all other metrics are tracked. However, when I checked the app, yes indeed it tracks my sleep including the stages. I have read some forums that it need to capture the heart rate so I gave it sometime. Now it has been 2 weeks and it still shows "sleep not tracked" though I know that it works normally in the mobile app. Please advise how to fix this error on the device, as I dont want to grab my phone just to check the sleep tracker. Thanks a lot fitbit peeps!

@fitn00bie, welcome on board! The tracker will show this message until you sync it with the phone. Sleep data should go through Fitbit servers where it gets processed to show sleep stages in the app. After that your tracker should display hrs slept instead of 'sleep not tracked' message. All the best!

What @fitn00bie is saying is that even after the data is uploaded and processed and shows in the app, the tracker still shows "Sleep not tracked." I'm having the same issue as are tons of other people in this forum. Would be nice to hear from Fitbit on this since they've previously mentioned in the forums that it's a known bug.

Yes that is right, after sync it shows all the metrics to the Fitbit app. Just annoying that it shows sleep not tracked in the watch. Tried the solution they say in other forums by restarting the watch or "begin sleep now"; but still didn't show in the watch. Hope Fitbit address this issue/bug.

Mine is doing this also. Worked fine tracking sleep on watch until today. Tried everything and no luck. Sleep shows on the app just not on the watch.

Is there a fix for sleep being on the app but not showing on the watch? Was working fine until today.

She was so far ahead of me I was totally lost trying to follow her instructions. After 45 min the connection was cut off so I gave up. p.

This happens to me also on a previous occasion when this was happening and fit but could not give me any answers they sent me a new fit bit charge three.
It was only a couple of months later my new fit bit charge three started doing the same thing.
Example being when I wake up in the morning and reset my Fitbit it says that my sleep is not tracked however when I manually enter my sleep time into the Fitbit app on my phone and then calculate the correct sleep times I’ve been asleep.
There seems to be a glitch in the software that is When I wake up in the morning and I reset my Fitbit to the phone it shows of my sleep has not been tracked however when I manually enter the sleep it shows the different stages of the polite and REM sleep and the length of sleep with the school so therefore I don’t believe the fit bit is not tracking sleep I believe there is a glitch in the software that allows the fit bit into auto Track my sleep.
I have raised this with fit bit on more than one occasion and consistently seem to get fobbed around now I’m starting to see other people posting the same thing.
In all honesty I think the charge for a fit bit is a let down I used to charge to HR for a long time and never had any problems at all so as far as a fit bit free sounds it might be time to go to Garman and see what they have on offer
excuse the spelling mistakes but I don’t particularly care because I’m voice typing and you get what I mean anyway.

Same thing happens for me sometimes. You just have to sync it, and then wait about 10 minutes. Eventually it should show up though.

Same problem. Have had my Charge 3 for over a year. Sleep and water consumed have never displayed on the device ... only on the app or online dashboard. To the Fitbit folks monitoring this forum — I would think that this should be a reasonably easy fix to the software on the device. Why hasn’t that been done? Or, why can’t you provide a good answer to the posts on this topic??

I am having a similar experience but on my Charge 4. It was showing up on my Charge 4 for the first 2 days then stopped, but when checking the app, the sleep data was being recorded. My phone is an Android phone, but decided to pair the Charge 4 to my iPad to see if it would fix the problem and after I did, the sleep data was showing up on my Charge 4.
My problem only seems to be happening when connected to my Android phone. I went to set it up on my Android phone again and the sleep data was showing "sleep not tracked" on the my Charge 4. I went to my bluetooth settings on my Android phone and unpaired "Charge 4" and then the sleep data was showing up on my fitness tracker. My problem only seems to occur when connected to my Android phone, though the sleep data on the app is showing up, it doesnt show on my device.
