Charge 3 stopped counting floors

My Charge 3 recently stopped counting any floors. I walked the same route yesterday and today, Yesterday my Charge 3 stated I did 7 floors and today I did 0 floors. Yes, I rebooted and did a hard shutdown and restart of my Charge 3 multiple times with no change.

 

Can anyone explained why it suddenly stopped counting floors?

I appreciate the information. What I don't appreciate is contacting customer service who tells me to redo the steps I've already taken and then sends an a standard email explaining how the fitbit device actually counts floors. When I contact customer service I expect to receive help, not an email.
