Charge 3 stopped tracking heart rate

I was in the midst of working out then suddenly charge 3 reads my heart rate around 200 beats.after afew days. Its not reading heart rate anymore. At the back of the panel there is a constant tiny dim red light flashing. On the screen, the heart rate just show blinking "--".. This is a second time replaced charge 3. The first died during workout too.

None of the solutions anywhere here provided help. Tried reset, hard reset, drain battery, change clock face, reset heart rate monitor sync unsync all did not solve. 2 dead charge 3 within similar lifespan shows how terrible built fitbit product are...
