I've had the Charge 3 for about 3 months now, and everything went well with the sleep registration until about 2-3 weeks ago. Now it is nearly every night that the fitbit start registering sleep only a few hours after I actually fell asleep. How can I restore proper functioning?

Hi there @Barbara_NL, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided about how your Charge 3 is tracking your sleep.
If you are not receiving sleep stages, I recommend considering the following:
Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see: What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?
Note that we are aware of Sleep Score may take longer than usual to appear in the app. We’re currently working to resolve it and hope to have a fix soon. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution.
I hope this helps, give this a go and let me know if next time your Charge 3 provides you with your sleep data. 😉

Hi thanks for the info but 2 days ago I charged my charge 3 up and since then my sleep tracker stopped tracking my sleep when I went for a nap in the day.
My usual sleeping habits are a couple of hours around 10pm then I would be wide awake so I would get up for a couple of hours and return back to bed around 2am then wake up about 10:30am the next day but I would be still tired so I would have a nap in the afternoon but like I said it’s stopped tracking the sleep in the day..........any advice

Hi there @SunsetRunner, thanks for stopping by and for the details provided. This happened to my 3 days ago just after the firmware update.
However, I found out that the update had apparently shut off the heart rate setting on my device. After having reset it to 'on', the heart rate monitoring came on again. As you know, sleep stages are based on your heart rate data. So, open the Settings app and find Heart Rate. Make sure Heart Rate is On.
If the heart rate is on, I'd recommend to perform the following steps below for this situation:
Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

Hi there @SunsetRunner, thanks for getting back and for the details provided.
Naps at least an hour in length will be automatically detected by your device and stored in your sleep history. You can find more information at: How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
Let me know if you need further assistance. 😉
