Charge 3 stopped vibrating and can't read screen when outside

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My charge 3 screen is too dark to read when exercising outside- have checked settings and brightness is either normal or auto.

Also it stopped vibrating some time ago so I no longer get notifications when I have walked a kilometre or achieved 10000 steps.

Hi @Helenbee, welcome to our Fitbit Community. Regarding the screen and vibration issues that your Charge 3 has experienced, I appreciate the time spent trying to get these issues resolved before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to restart your Charge 3 as described in this help article. After this, try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face. The restart process is also helpful for the vibration issue.

Finally, monitor your tracker during the next 24 hours and see if the issues get fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Hi JuanJo,
Thanks for responding.
I did both things you suggested and it hasn’t made any difference. I cannot see anything on my charge 3 when I am outside in the sun - not even the time.
It’s fine when inside but it’s very annoying when I go for my walks.
Vibration still doesn’t work either. I purchased my device in March 2019.

Hi @Helenbee, thank you for trying the steps previously shared. I'd like you to try one more workaround which will be helpful for both issues. Please try a long restart. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.
  8. Set up your tracker from scratch and see if it vibrates and the display works properly.

Let me know how it goes.

Tried that and it didn’t make any difference. I would like to at least be able to see the time when I am out walking.
