Charge 3 stopped working after swimming

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought my husband a change 3 via an online store (Takealot) in South Africa. He has had it for 14 months and showered with it every day. He swam with it for the first time recently and it immediately stopped working and went blank. I contacted Fitbit via Facebook Messenger and was prompted to read some articles supposedly to help restart it. Nothing worked, the watch is still blank and gets very hot when we attempt to change it. I have had no response from Fitbit on Messenger since I replied 4 days ago (typically replies in a day🤔?).
I would like to know what our next step is as I believe there’s a 2 year manufacturer warranty. Please help

Hi there @LondonT, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided and for taking the time to troubleshoot your husband's Charge 3 prior to contacting us.

I was about to create a support case on your behalf, but since you've already contacted them directly, I'd recommend to please to keep in an eye on your Facebook Messenger to receive updates on your case.

I tried to look up for the case you have open, but it seems that you contacted them under your husband's Fitbit account right? If so and you don't get a reply in the next two days, please contact me via PM and let me know your case number so I can continue with the follow up on it.

I'll be around if you need further help.

Hi
Thanks for replying. I contacted them via FB Messenger, but they haven’t
replied since Tuesday.
I have contacted them under my own name as I was the one who ordered and
bought the Fitbit as a gift.
I can’t explain why there is no record of that conversation, but I can
supply screenshots if you wish

Exactly the same problem as I Have. Got my Fitbit last february as a birthdaypresent. Have showered with nearly everyday. But yesterday I went swimming and it just went black. And gets very warm when trying to charge. How do I proceed? Did you get answers?

Since none of the steps you tried have worked, I've created a case to get you in contact with our Support Team about this. They will be able to work with you and review your options. Please keep a lookout in your inbox to the email address associated with this Fitbit account. Someone will be in contact with you soon!

I'll be around if there's anything else I may do to help you.

Hi, i have exactly the same problem, used to shower with it and also swimming, but on week ago it just beaved erratic after a swim, the haptic motor was bussing and black screen. I also noticed the led on the bac had turned bright red. It got warm and eventually went all blac (dead). Upon trying to charge it again it turned on (screen) bet LED bright red and the thing got really hot so i stopped charging with the result it got blank again. Im afraid there is some short happening.

Hi if it helps I would recommending the local helpline number for your country as I called today because of this same problem (not working after swimming) and a replacement is being sent out.
