Charge 3 stuck in the firmware update

New from the box Charge 3 (a replacement for the previous one that had sync issues) connected ok and wanted a firmware update straight away. It is now stuck in this update with the line at about 75%, has been at this point for 12 hours now. Internet’s fine.

I tried to restart it (connected through charger, as per instructions), it wouldn’t restart. Nothing’s happening on the screen, the update line remains the same.

It won’t even buzz or vibrate on connection.

Dead as a dodo...

Welcome on board @DrBunny! Sorry to hear about the inconveniences you've been having with your new Charge 3. Thanks for already troubleshooting this, nice way to go!

We recommend start charging your device before updating it, since updates can take several minutes to an hour and are demanding on the battery. Note that if you update your device at midnight (when your step count resets) you may see an inaccurate step count for 24 hours.

Make sure your tracker is charged and then try these steps:

  1. Turn your tracker off and on again using the instructions in How do I restart my tracker?
  2. Try the firmware update again. If it doesn't work, reboot your mobile device and try the update again.
  3. Try the firmware update again. If it doesn't work, on a different mobile device or computer (if available) log into your Fitbit account and try updating your firmware.

Note that if you get notifications from your mobile device on your tracker, before you can use a different device or computer you need to follow the instructions in Why is my tracker only syncing with one mobile device?

Give this a shot and let me know the outcome!

This fix is not working. My Charge 3 will NOT restart. I’ve tried about 50 times now. Just stays at 75% on the update bar.

My brand new out of the box charge 3 is doing the exact same. Was going through the update and the bar didn't move for around an hour or so, it won't restart and I've tried all of the 'fixes' but nothing is working. Anyone got any ideas what I can do? The only thing I can think of is waiting for the battery to die and hope that this resets it for me?! So frustrating!

Garbage answer. Still fails and this has been a known issue for a year now. How about we all just take them back and buy a Garmin?
