I just received the fitbit charge 3 for my birthday. I was really excited about the swim tracking on it. Tried out first time tonight. I started the app on the watch set my goal no problem until I wanted to sync it to my phone afterwords. It was counting steps and saved my exercise as running. Have i done something wrong or anyone else had similar issues? I’m really upset because swim tracking is the main reason we chose the charge 3. Any help would be much appreciated.

@Eva317, welcome to the community! May I ask you - how did you try to track swimming - manually or relied on auto tracking option? Auto tracking may be a bit finicky when Charge 3 has hard time figuring out specific type of activity you're engaged in and may not track it at all if the activity was done for less than min set time (15+ min by default that can be reduced down to 10+ min in the Fitbit app).
For better results, I'd recommend using manual tracking option where you can start and stop swim tracking right from your Charge 3 (you can add swim shortcut to your tracker from Fitbit app - just need to remove one or more exercises set by default in order to have plus (edit) icon to appear). Here's help article about swim tracking.
Please, let us know if you have any questions!

@Eva317, did you see how tracking started? The screen should be showing duration of the exercise as you swim. Could it be the case that you pushed run instead of swim exercise shortcut? Stats measured for each of these exercises are very different - misidentification of the exercise would be expected for auto-tracking, but not for manual tracking...

@Eva317, you're using the tracker correctly and the behavior you're experiencing is not something expected. Just in case, may I ask you a favor to restart the tracker? (There's also wireless option - swipe 3 times from the clock face to the left => tap on Settings => swipe up to get to About and tap on it => swipe up and tap Reboot Device). If it still doesn't track the exercise correctly - something is definitely wrong.... You may try to contact Customer Support for further options. Hope you can get it all sorted out!!!

My fit bit 3 tracked my breaststroke in fits and starts proper reading about 6 cal/min. The last few weeks it says not enough data. What did you do the algorithms in the app? Please fix. Because I swim 35 laps and it takes me slightly more than a hour, setting the swimming timer is useless. CAN YOU PLEASE JUST FIX IT. LIKE NOW!!!!!!
