Charge 3 tracker stopped tracking Sleep Stages

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have had my watch now for atleast 2 years, and the sleep tracker has usually worked perfectly fine, the occasional sleep stage not showing.

However, over the past two consecutive weeks, the sleep stage has not worked at all. The watch sits at the same place it always sits when sleeping/general use; it is at full charge, I’ve tried to loosen/tighten, but it makes no difference.

I do have the issue where the touch screen is lagging/doesn’t work for some period of time either (even tho this forum is about the sleep stages/tracking)
Is this a sign my watch is on its last ends?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @BronteB. Thank you for mentioning the steps you have followed in order to get Sleep Stages on your Charge 3.

There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.

Do you get simplified sleep on the app?

Keep on visiting the forums.

Hiya,

The only times I’ve had the “simplified sleep stage” data is when the watch has fallen off my wrist and when I’ve had a very interrupted sleep.

However, even though over the last two weeks the watch has stayed on all night and I’ve had a good sleep (to my knowledge), I’m still getting simplified sleep stages.

I keep my watch at the same position day in and day out, and not loose (ocd wouldn’t allow that).
I have no clue what the “start sleep now” option is, so I haven’t used that. The only “start now” button I press is for workouts/stopwatch.

Thanks!

I tried changing wrists/position and it didn’t change anything. Still another day of sleep stage.
