Charge 3 tracking sleep when not wearing it

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've been using the charge 3 for a couple of weeks. All of a sudden it's logging sleep 1 hour here, 1 hour there. I'm at work and by the time I punched out I've logged 3 one hour naps. It's easy enough to delete the logs but why should I have to? I bought a FitBit, not a cheap knockoff fitness tracker. Or did I?

Hi there @WhyGee75, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided.

Was the heart rate on when you took it off your wrist? If so, sometimes the Charge 3 can't detect you have taken it off, and it sees what it thinks is your pulse. And as you may know, sleep stages are calculated by using your heart rate.

Autodetection is based on your movement. When you haven’t moved for about an hour, your device assumes that you’re asleep.

You can prevent this by turning off heart rate tracking when the tracker is not in use, log into your dashboard and go to Settings app and find Heart Rate. Make sure it's set to On

To get more detailed information, please see: How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device? and What should I know about sleep stages?

Give this a shot and let me know if the issue persists.

Hello,

I did not take it off my wrist. shuttin the device on/off won't work for me. I could be at work and move every 5 minutes or I can get stuck at my desk for 3 hours straight. I think I'll just have to keep deleting the logs. It's not a big deal but it gets annoying.

Thanks for helping
