Charge 3 tracking too many floors

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi

I work in a supermarket as a cashier 4 days a week. On the days when I’m working my floor count is way off. Some times by 50 floors, once it even counted 112 floors, even though I didn’t do a single floor that day.

The days when I’m not working it’s fine and counts correct. So it MUST be something at my work. Maybe the scanner confuses my charge 3?

Has anyone had this problem?

Hi there @Linini86, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided about the floor counting accuracy on your Charge 3, I'll be glad to help you.

Your device is designed to detect pressure changes based on elevation gain, but other types of pressure changes, such as a gust of wind, a weather change, or opening a door, can occasionally cause your device to register extra floors. Your device registers 1 floor when you climb about 10 feet, which is the average between residential and commercial floor heights. If you climb long staircases you may find that the floor count on your device doesn’t match the number of floors you climbed when the staircase is taller than 10 feet.

It is also possible that the device will count some stairs while performing other activities, but the number should not be exaggerated. Remember the device tries to give you credit for all movements throughout the day.  You can find more information in this article: How accurate are Fitbit devices?

If you continue to experience any trouble with too many floors being recorded, please try to perform a restart by following these steps. Then check if you continue to experience the same behavior.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi

i still need help. I have reset it, but it didn’t help and I don’t think it will either.
inhad a charge 2 before and it did exactly the same. Counted my floors way off when I was at work.

My work place is on ground floor, and there’s not really much wind or pressure in the store.
I have tested it out for 6 months now. It ONLY counts wrong when I’m at the cash register, when I’m walking around the store, everything is fine.

could it be the scanner for the price tags? Could it interfere?
