My charge 3 will only work when it is charging.  It says it is fully charged but when I disconnect it and put it on my wrist it works for a few seconds then stops.  When I connect it to the charger again it says the charge is at 1%. I have rebooted it several times but nothing improves.

Hi @Anne2020, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'd like to follow up and help you with your Charge 3 since it won't keep a charge and it turns off when you remove it from the charger.

 

I'd like you to try a long restart. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable. 
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds. 
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration. 
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur. 
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

In case the issue persists after this, try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. After this, charge your tracker for 2-3 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.

Thanks for the advice.

I've now done 2 long restarts and cleaned the charger and watch as advised. No change in the operation of my Fitbit. It still says it is 100% charged when I remove it from the charger and then a minute or so later it turns off and when reattached to the charger it says the charge is only 1%.

Any further help would be appreciated.
