Charge 3 uses entire battery in 3-4 hours

I was able to get 4-5 days out of my charge 3 for 2 years, but suddenly 2 days ago i cant get more than a few hours out of it. I have done everything in the extend battery life recommendations. I charge to full and even if i am not wearing it, and with bluetooth turned off on my phone so the fitbit isn't syncing frequently, the battery lasts about 3-4 hours.

This change happened suddenly. It was giving me close to a week of battery life and then one night i put the watch on after a full charge and got up in the middle of the night, only 4 hours later, to use the toilet and my watch wouldn't give me the time. I put it on the charger and its battery was empty. Since then it has gone from full charge to empty in 3-4 hours regardless of usage. I've tried just leaving it sitting on a desk and it still uses the entire battery in a few hours.

Batteries do not behave like this. If it had been a gradual decrease in life it would make sense but not a sudden change from several days worth of charge to just a few hours worth in a single day.

The second sentence from my original post:

"I have done everything in the extend battery life recommendations."

This appears to be nothing more than a case of programmed obsolescence as the sudden change in battery life is not possible with these kinds of batteries. I will never be buying another of these products and i will be contacting a consumer affairs ombudsman to discuss the possibility that these products are being purposefully tanked once they are past warranty.

Having the exact same issue with mine. It had been working find for the longest time. Held a charge reliably for a week at a time. Now all of a sudden it can barely hold a charge. I did a reset per the instructions provided by the admins here, turned off all notifications and the always sync function too. Not sure how the battery went from just fine to all of a sudden immediately dying.

This is exactly what happened with my Charge 2 now.

I have had it for about 3 years and it has been working flawlessly for that time. The battery lasted for about 5-6-7 days

until I had to recharge it.

Now, out of nowhere, the battery is fully depleted after just 1 day.

I have taken the steps that are described in the instructions to extend battery life but they did NOT work.

Also, I have contacted customer support (which was not friendly or sympathetic to my case) and was told

to go to "Clock Faces" in the Fitbit app which I didn't have. I have "Clock Display" and I was told to change that.

I have to test it out for 5 days with the new Clock Display but honestly I don't see this working.

Hopefully there will be a solution for this as I've read more people have this problem.

I had an issue with my charge 2 where it would no longer sync with my device. I have found that Fitbits customer support has been very helpful when I contact them with issues but it is a shame that they seem to have a quality control problem with their products. I contacted them about my charge 3 battery issue and they were able to confirm my problem and escalated it for review. Hopefully I'll hear back quickly with their proposed solution. I'll keep you guys posted.

Well, I heard back from fitbit customer service. Unfortunately my charge 3 is just out of the warranty window and all they can offer me is a 35% discount on a new Fitbit. Got to admit that's a bit disappointing. I would have expected a better explanation as to why all of a sudden the battery went from "just like new" to "completely useless". I would get a new Fitbit too but seeing as how the company just joined google, it'd be a waste to get one now when a new product is on the way. Even more lame, the discount is only good for 30 days. Hopefully google improves their quality control. For nearly 4 years now I've had a pixel 2 XL that works just as good as the day I got it. Maybe they'll bring that focus on quality products over to fitbit.
