Charge 3 vibrates but blank screen

Fully charged.....blank screen.....vibrates when button is pushed

I've tried many things to get it to work but to no avail.  It is sad that this issue can't be fixed or the fitbit be replaced.  It seems to be a common issue.  The device lasts about a year and then goes bad.

I have the same problem. Mine will buzz when I push the button, but that is it. I can't turn it off, I can't reset the watch, it doesn't do the reminders, but it still syncs.

I had the same issue. It never started working again. This is the second Fitbit that this has happened to me with. I called customer service and because it was over 1 year old they would only give me 35% off a new Fitbit. I switched to the Apple Watch and I’m extremely happy with my new watch. Fitbit should be ashamed that they don’t stand behind their products. I bought 2 Fitbits in 2 1/2 years. Should’ve switched to Apple and saved myself the headache.

I have a 21 month old charge 3, have always been able to reset black screen until last week. Screen was fading, did update, screen still faded, then went black. Have changed clock face and restarted multiple times, still black screen, but still tracking steps, sleep. Unfortunately in my attempts to reset the alarm changed to 11PM. There does not seem to be a way to reset it other than on the device, which has a black screen. Calls to Fibit most unsatisfying, offered 35 percent off a new one which is $2.00 less than the current sale price! I was informed several times how many days past the warranty my device was. My reply was a $150 device should not have the ongoing issues that have been reported and is obviously a piece of crap. Loved the device, but am very reluctant to invest any more money on a device with such a short lifespan.

My Fitbit Charge 3 screen is black.  I rebooted it several times. The smiley face appears but I can barely see it. The screen is black as soon as I lift the Fitbit off the charger. I tried changing the clock. After the selection was completed the screen is still black so I can't view  the clock. The "initial" problem was the screen had gotten darker. It was hard to see the information. To try and fix that problem, I swiped left on the screen and went to settings to brightness. I barely tapped the screen and it went black. It syncs and collects data.

My fitbit has the same issue - black screen, vibrates when I press the button but does not do anything else. It will not sync and no updates appear to be available via the app. I have tried a reset, as described, but simply get a single line, then a smiley face but the screen remains blank. I cannot  change the clock face at it will not sync. Please can someone from fitbit contact me via email with advice on a way forward. I'm hugely disappointed that this has happened.

Unfortunately, what you are experiencing is typical of the battery failing. If still under warranty, contact Fitbit and see if they will exchange.I have decided to bite the bullet, and move on from Fitbit to a manufacture that provides units that they will support, and have consumer replaceable batteries.I did start to buy a Charge 4 at Christmas, due to the $50 off promotion I found locally, but after some deep thinking on the idea, I realized in 12 months, or so, I would be back in the same position I was with the Charge 3. Sorry that this doesn't help any, but maybe it will save you from throwing away any more money, on products that are considered disposable.

Hi there, my Fitbit vibrates but has a blank screen. It syncs to the app and is still showing my stats when synced so it seems to be working fine but for the blank screen. I have restarted the device while charging and changed the clock face but there has been no improvement. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks in advance

Same issue. 

Clock face change fails.

Won't sync.

Unresponsive to button pushes/attempts to restart

No display at all.

Vibrating stops when on charge.

Swaps between a constant vibrate and constant green light on underside or flashing green with "flashing" vibrations.

Hello. I have the same problem. No screen for weeks now. Have tried to reset to no avail and accepred my fate that this was better for me to stop obssesing looking st the screen. But then the non stop vibrating started oast night. I changed the clock face, tried the 15 second reset. Read the threads above and tried the solutions to no avail. Also have a rash from the wrist band but that is a separate issue i can fix. Please help.

My Fitbit charge 3 has a blank screen, vibrates continuously while pushing the button and plugged in. It also won't sync. I purchased it in 2019 so there's no warranty. Please help.

Hi,

I have stopped using my Charge 3 and gone back to my Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro. Battery life on the Gear is not as good as the Charge 3, but at least the unit works without software glitches and provides me the information that I want to keep track of. The only way I will consider a FitBit watch again is if they offer me a free and hassle free replacement of my bug-ridden Charge 3 with a more modern product with better performance. I am not asking for better features. All I need is a unit that functions for at least 4 years without trouble and as advertised. To have paid nearly $200 for a watch that lasted less than one year is a complete rip-off.

Agree. Ours lasted less than two years and it happened on an earlier
version as well. Makes you wonder if it’s some type of intentional
software issue.

Support only will offer you a coupon towards a new unit which is basically worth nothing as the coupon gets the price equal to what you would pay from another retailer.  This is clearly a defect that needs to be addressed.

Support has confirmed that my Charge 3 is defective since steps to correct (press button while on charger and changing clock face) have not worked.  Seems like a overall defect in product design of the Charge 3.   They offered a discount on another product due to being just out of warranty.  

 

Hoping the product defect is not also in other FitBit watches/trackers.  Loved the product while it worked.
