Same here.

Tried reset a couple of times, felt the vibrations but nothing showed up on the screen. Also tried changing the clock face. Possible problem with the last firmware update which we got last week or so? The current firmware version is 20001.63.5.

Is there any solution here other than replacing the device?

Hi all I had similar issues, I had to leave fitbit run flat so it resets itself. Then recharge, screen should come back on but you need to give it a full reset and delete all data. This worked for me.

Leave it run out of battery, then charge it will automatically reset itself. You will need to reset and delete data also. Or go online chat with fitbit and get a replacement.

I'm having similar issues. I've tried resetting, restarting, changing the clock face, hopping on one foot while winking my left eye...

Why don't we have access to all our options from the app? Maybe if I could turn the lock screen option off, we wouldn't have this little issue.

I guess I'll have to wait until it completely runs out of battery and try a factory reset. This may take a few days...

Hello, my Fitbit charger 3 was working fine and before going to sleep I saw it was a low charge. The charger was not near so I decided to charge the following morning! when I came back my charger was fully charged,  as could see it from the app,   it was still vibrating but the screen is not working anymore! It's completely black. I researched and it said to restarter the long way, I did it multiple times but it's still a no no. I bought it on late November ISH not sure when. I don't think it's life should last so short.  Could you please help me, thank you very much!

Thank you so much for this, I was about to cry thinking that my fitbit was broken

This seems to be a common issue with the Charge 3.

Some have fixed by restarting the fitbit. The instructions for that are in this help file: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186/

When this doesn't work the other thing to try is to change the clockface via the app. If this works then it's safe to change the clockface back to what it was.

OK, at this point, we need to get a replacement. What happened was the Charge 3 got enough power to download the update (had to try that three times) and we thought, "Terrific!" But, alas, no. It will get enough power to synchronize and track effectively for a day. Then, it'll show the wrong time and report the battery is dying. We'll charge it for two days to get to the point where it will respond. It will synchronize, work for about a day, report the wrong time, then die. (I should note: The Fitbit's battery report never matches the application's. The app will show an adequately-charged battery but the Fitbit will say it's less than 15%.)

Pointers to get an authorized return/replacement?

I have similar issue. Screen is blank. Multiple restart efforts have failed. App shows it syncing and charged. Vibrates but no screen display. Please advise.

We wrote to Fitbit support finally. It's not out of the woods but it's improved. Here's what we're doing: When it's on the charger and responsive  (once every three days for us), hold the button down for 15 seconds. The device should vibrate seven times and the screen change a few times. Disconnect the device, then reconnect. When we did this, the battery icon displayed. It look less than an hour to fully charge.

Since then, we have synched the device a few times a day. It has kept the time and recorded steps, exercise and sleep. That's the good news. The application will report a battery life that doesn't match what the device says (46% on app but 30% on device). The calorie burn rate is puzzling (1400 steps but 3000 calories burned?).

We were advised to aggressively synch throughout the day, let the battery drain, and contact Fitbit again. We were also told to upgrade the app (which was already updated) and look for features that might be drinking the battery (there's a URL listing features; I don't have it at hand).

So, we're better but it isn't perfect. More to come in a few days.

By changing the clock interface it worked perfect and has ever since

I’ve tried both “fixes” but screen is still black/blank. Device is fully charged, able to sync and change clock face via app, but displays nothing on screen. Happened overnight while sleeping around the time I accepted the new app interface. Frustrating 😞

On my charge 3 my screen was all garbled when I took it off charge this morning. I plugged it back in and then it went black. I tried resetting the device by holding the button on while it was on charger, did nothing. I tried changing to all the clock faces, still nothing. Now what? Is it time to buy new? I just got this when it released.

So iv got the same problem and gone through all of these “solutions” on this thread and still doesn’t work.

When I tried the reset, it would just continue to vibrate and nothing happen, I did this for several hours, no luck!.. now it doesn’t even respond to anything like the watch is completely dead.

I purchased the watch 1 month ago to go travelling with, and I currently have 6 months left, any suggestions on what to do as I clearly can not take it back to the shop!

Contact support, and just claim the product. I got my replacements already. First one came with defective screens, they replace that one too. So I’m all good now. So if you all have tried all that is listed and still don’t work, don’t waste time. Contact Fitbit and start the claiming process. So if you got your watch within a year, the warranty should still be valid. Don’t waste any more time.

I am sick and tired of Fitbit charge 3. The first one gave out after swimming and I dried it too. Bowl of rice didn’t work so I contacted Fitbit and they send me another without wrist band. Fine. Worked for about 3 weeks on and off and I never use it for swimming 😒 and today clockface disappears and when I push the side button it keeps vibrating. I followed all advise given here and it’s DEAD! Won’t synch or reset. I’m done with Fitbit, never again!

The latest: I recorded the Fitbit flipping between displays while not being worn. I then returned to Fitbit chat, referenced the case number, shared the video, and received a return authorization number. That process, naturally, didn't go smoothly either. I completed the on-line form, then waited a week. I wrote back, asking for an arrival time, and received a reply saying they didn't have the name on the account or the country of origin. (I must call BS on this one since you cannot complete the return request form without that information. But, moving along...) I supplied the information and **finally** received an order confirmation. I'll let you know if the replacement ever arrives.

I’m having all the same issues as the last comments.  Black screen, vibrates, but won’t connect to Fitbit.  Restarted many times and tried changing clocks faces.

Help.
