Charge 3 water resistance in question

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a charge 3 just a year now, never used it in any water or got it wet until yesterday.  I was at my brother-in-law who has a small pool.  I was floating around the pool for about an hour and half (not swimming or jumping around).  When I got out of the pool the charge 3 was dead.  I had it in rice the last 12 hours, still dead.  I tried charging it just now, won't charge but got so hot you could not hold it my hand.

If what I did yesterday causes the charge 3 to fail, it has big questions about the water resistance of 50 meter.  Floating around a 6 foot deep pool should have had no effect on the charge 3.  My charge 3 worked great with no problems at all until yesterday.

If anyone knows anything that my bring my charge 3 back to life please let me know.  I don't want to invest money again on another one.

I had the same problem yesterday with my Fitbit.  First time to wear it in my pool and it totally freaked out flashing, vibrating, and blinking until battery died.  Didn't appear to be charging but now the face has returned-but back to flashing, vibrating, and blinking. I can see "moisture" inside the sensors on the back side of the unit.  Currently I have it in a bag of rice to see if it will dry out the sensors, I know, old school technique.  Even if it comes back to life, I feel "swim proof" is not an accurate statement, at least for my Fitbit, and I should be provided with a replacement Charge 3.  As a side note, I have never worn it in the shower so this was the first time getting it wet other than splashes from sink or water hose.

Did the rice work? I washed my dog yesterday, and now the exact same thing is happening to mine.

Sadly, no. Had to warranty it
