Charge 3 went haywire and now it is dead

I was outside doing yard work today when my Charge 3 started going haywire. It would vibrate nonstop and bounce back and forth between the main screen and the do not disturb screen option. I came inside and put it on the charger hoping that would help. The only thing that did was give me the smiley face of death screen and then went blank. 

I've made sure that everything is up to date and have followed several instructions that I've found here to no avail. It doesn't vibrate putting it on the charger, the green light isn't flashing on the back, and the screen stays blank. It hasn't synced since about 4pm. 

Did I finally fry this one too?
