Charge 3 will not stay charged

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My tracker will not stay charged at all. I can charge it in the morning and it will die while I’m sleeping at night. I’ve restarted it multiple times. I keep the screen brightness low. I’ve turned off all notifications. I’ve turned off all day sync.

How else can I resolve this?

Welcome on board @DallasRN! Thanks for all the steps you've tried so far in order to solve the issues with the short battery on your Charge 3.

I'd recommend restarting your Charge 3 one more time. Then, let your device to run out of battery to charge it again. Keep an eye on it to see how the battery goes. You can also see: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

If the battery keeps draining faster than expected, can you please let me know which clock face are you using? Also, try using a different one and monitor the battery life afterwards to see if the issue persists.

We recommend to charge your trackers via the USB port over a wall adapter. However, it is also possible to charge your Fitbit tracker with a UL certified wall adapter. What may actually cause damage to the tracker's battery (either on a computer or a wall adapter) is the charging time, which if excessive over time may damage the battery and therefore cause quick battery drain or prevent the tracker from charging at all.

Tips to best charge Fitbit trackers are:

  • Use only genuine Fitbit charging cables
  • Use only UL-certified wall chargers
  • Avoid USB battery packs
  • Charge at room temperature

For charging purposes, your charging cable can be plugged into any USB power source, including but not limited to:

  • A computer
  • A Wall A/C to USB adapter, commonly found with smartphones
  • A DC to USB adapter (vehicle power port)

Let me know how it goes, I'll be around.

Thank you for your reply! I actually tried switching my clock face yesterday from ‘mod clock date’ to ‘punctual’ and again, my charger was dead before I woke up (from a full charge that am)

I’ve only ever used the charging cord that came with my Fitbit and used a wall adapter (the one that came with my iPhone). I’ve never plugged it into anything other than the wall charger!

I will try resetting it again and letting it die all the way.

Thank you you so much for the help.. I really love my Fitbit! But this battery issue is disheartening.

Thank you..

I reset it once more, let it drain all the way to dead. I charged it early this afternoon and the battery is empty before I’ve even gone to bed. 😞

I will watch my email.. thank you again.

Over the last two weeks I have watched the battery on my Fitbit Charge 3 not being able to hold a charge for more than 48 hours. Yesterday I charged it to 100% and this morning it's down to 10% without me wearing it at night.

I have shut it down multiple times, changed clock faces and charged it only on USB with the cable that it came with. It is less than 8 months old. What other options to I have to make it work?

So how do I restart my charge 3? Mine hasn't gotten to where it won't hold a charge at all yet, but it has gotten to where the charge only lasts a day or two now instead of a week like it did when I purchased it back in February 2019. I don't put it on to charge until I see the low battery face.

I went through the technology support at Fitbit. I did everything they
told me to do and nothing worked. They eventually sent me a new one as my
Charge was only 7 months old.

I am having the same problem. My Fitbit went from staying charged to 4-5 days to only holding a charge for less than 24 hours in less than a week. Last night I charged it to full battery via the charger that came with my Fitbit in a USB port, and it was 15% when I woke up 7 hours later!! I've tried restarting it, but I need a solution bc it's affecting me at work to not have a clock on my wrist

I am having the same issues. My Fitbit Charge 3 won't keep a charge at all. It dies immediately after I remove it from the charging cable after charging it completely. I've only had mine for about 16 months. Please help!

We are having the same issue.  We are using the same charging cord that came with the Fitbit, changed the sync time and clock face.  It will not stay charged  for 12 hours.

I did everything they told me to do and kept in contact with them. It
wasn't a year old so they sent me a new one.

I'm on my 3rd Charge 3 in about 15 months.   I bought my first in March 2019, and in August 2019 the screen stopped working, yet it would sync.  I got a replacement on warranty that arrived in September, and that worked up until the end of April of this year, when it did the exact same thing again.  I was able to get another under warranty, and now THIS replacement, after working fine for 5 weeks, now goes from 100% at 8am, to giving me battery warnings at 8pm, and will be dead by midnight.      I don't know if I'm just having a really bad run of luck but I'm super unhappy with the devices that I've had 😞

That doesn't seem right. I'm so sorry to hear that. I think I would just
ask for a refund.

Hi there! I am having a charging issue as well! My charge 3 will be at 100% and be dead within 2-4 hours. It is very frustrating as I rely heavily on it for time, dieting, and my sleep patterns. This issue has been going on since 7/31/20. It started out that my charge would randomly start a continuous vibration until I plugged it in or it died. That stop but then now it won’t stay charged. My husband took the bands off to ensure everything was clean. I work as it used to for an entire week. Lasted me 6 days this week. Now back to dying. I’m sad. I have only had it about a year and a half. Please help. Thank you.
