Charge 3 won't charge and gets incredibly hot

Hi

i've had my charge 3 for just over 2 years now and yesterday it suddenly said that it needed to be charged - i plugged it in and when i went to retrieve it 1.5 hrs later it was incredibly hot (too hot to put back on) And it had not charged at all!

i waited for it to cool down and plugged the charger into a different outlet and it once again became so hot i didn't want to leave it plugged in (also no charge)

i have had it plugged in as i was setting up to send in the issue (about 10 minutes) and i can hardly touch the screen - i wouldn't be able to put it on for fear of burning myself (but it hasn't even connected (no little buzz) i've cleaned it per the instructions.

any help is appreciated - thanks

So we’re you able to fix it? Mine is doing the exact same thing.

Hello @Bakingmama24 and welcome to the Community.  If your device is getting hot, either in the charger or while you are wearing it, please remove the charger from the power source (if it is too hot to handle) or stop wearing it (to prevent injury).  A hot battery is always a bad thing.  Contact Support using the link in @EdsonFitbit's post.
