Charge 3 won’t charge and overheats

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Had this charge 3 since November 2018.  Fitbit will not charge, no sync, won’t reset and gets very hot while plugged in.  Very frustrating.  And of course I can no longer return it to the store.  Any ideas how to fix this issue?

I am experiencing the exact same issue. My fitbit charge 3 showed on display that the battery needed to be charged. I charged it for approx. 2 hours and went back to check on it only to find the screen black and the watch completely burning hot. I've tried every suggestion on the forums, but without success. This is the 3rd fitbit I've owned and not one of them has lasted more than a year. Very disappointed.

I'll have to join this club as my fitbit is now dead.  I can get a smiley face and the app says it's charged, but I have a dead screen.  When I first tried to plug in and recharge, it got very hot.  Had this watch less than a year!

I am having this problem also.  It will not turn on at all, and gets extremely hot when plugged in.

They replaced mine but I understand your disappointment. It’s a wonderful
fitness tool but I think the charge 3s have a design flaw across the
board. Hopefully they’ll replace it for you.

Hi! A customer service rep contacted me through this forum and had me
send it back. They replaced it and it has been fine since then. Try to
contact them and you shouldn’t have a problem getting a replacement. Hope
this helps!

Mine too.  Call support.  No one understands my Aussie/ California accent. I gave up and bought a Garmin.

This has happened to mine now too. Won't turn on, won't reset, won't sync, nothing at all. Plug it in to charge and nothing happens other than it getting extremely hot extremely quickly, the temperature it soared to was so hot it could easily have burnt something if i had it on the wrong surface.

Hey, mine also won't recharge, has a black screen, and overheats after less than a year. I can't find any customer service contact information that isn't twitter, and I don't have a twitter account. How did you contact them? Just through these forums?

I am having this same issue. Was working fine, today went blank after an outing, tried charging just got hot. tried a reset but its not displaying anything or responding. I don't do twitter, My husband reached out via FB. Lack of email and phone number are a huge negative for customer service.

No solution was found Unfortunately. I had to repurchase a new fitbit.

Yeah i gave up on it. Didn't even have it for a year and for the price I expected it to work for much longer. You could start a fire with how hot it got when it was trying to charge, wouldn't be surprised if it exploded. After trying every suggestion online in FAQs and forums etc I realised it's well and truly ruined and now just an ornament in my drawer.

These watches are crap.  Find another brand. Fitbit won’t fix the issue I already called. Moving to Garmin.

Same here. I purchased my fitbit 3 from an authorised dealer in Hong Kong.

Since two months ago, it can not be charged therefore cannot switch on.

When I put it to the charger, it get hotter and hotter.

Is there anything I could do about it?
