Charge 3 won't charge or reset

My Charge 3 seems to have gone haywire. I've tried several different ways to get it to charge and have followed directions to clean the contacts with no success and I cannot get it to reset. To top it off, my screen now has black lines through the screen.

 

I have revved up my Charge 2 and am using that for now. I liked some of the features on the Charge 3 but have has several problems with it, usually when there has been an update. This is the first time that I have been unable recharge my Charge 3 or reset the device.

 

Any suggestions?

I have had multiple problems with the Charge 3 since I bought it but never had trouble either charging or resetting. This time, I tried every solution but nothing worked. I even tried using a different charger (I have 2 for the Charge 3) and I couldn't get it to work. When I tried to reset (several times), either "screen wake" shows up or the screen stays blank. I just updated the device last week without a problem. No clue what to do next. I've given up on it for now and glad that I still had my Charge 2 around. I've linked it with my account so at least I have something.

I have the same issue with my Charge 3. Our stories sound identical.  I too am having to use my Charge 2 now.  I've tried all the remedies as well.  Why is this happening Fitbit???

My Charge 3 battery got really low. I have had it charging for three hours with no luck. Sometimes I get the smiley face, otherwise nothing. I have cleaned both the Charge 3 and the charger pad with alcohol. Occasionally I get a small vibration. Now the screen is totally black and will not show anything. 

I have tried restarting with no luck, the button doesn't seem to budge. 

I have only had this Charge 3 for two months.

After going back and forth with Tech Support, I still could not get my Charge 3 to work. Fortunately, my Charge 3 was still under warranty so they replaced the mechanism. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that I should have saved the wristband so I have a new Charge 3 but no way to wear it. Have ordered a substitute wristband.

After much back and forth with no resolution, I was handed over to a specialist who ascertained that my Charge 3 was still under warranty so I was able to mail the defective Charge 3 back. The replacement one has worked just fine and I have not had any problems at all (except  I didn't realize that they didn't want the wristband back so I had to buy a new one).

I went back and forth on this issue for about a week. Eventually, they sent my case over to a specific casework. Since my Charge 3 was still under warranty, I mailed the old one back and they sent me a new one (just the mechanism, not the band). Hope yours is still under warranty.
