It's great to see new faces @KatrinaSlater and @shrinkingjudy thanks for the help.

I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this battery issue. If your Charge 3 isn't charging, I recommend taking a look at the help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and follow the instructions provided there.

Let me know the outcome. Man Happy

I tried every step, I tried different chargers, different ports, different usb blocks for the walls nothing is charging my Fitbit  charge 3.  I got it to charge to 37% and left it charging for the day came home to 17% battery.  I miss my fitbit.  Help!

I am also having the same problem. I have cleaned it and fully charged my Charge 2.  within a day, it was dead and all my data was lost.  I plugged it in and it charged back up and synced with my app.  But all my data (steps, stairs, etc.) was gone.

why did this start so suddenly?  one minute it was fine, just hours later, it pooped the bucket.

Welcome to the Community Forums @TeacherMatt! What happened to you is an expected behavior. You should have logged in to sync the tracker before you began wearing it. However, since the tracker ran out of battery, I understand you were unable to sync before this to happen.

If you remember the exact amount of steps or the name of the activity you performed, you can try manually logging the activity. To get more information about this, check the article: How do I manually log an activity or exercise?

Additionally, it'd be great to take a look at: How do Fitbit devices sync their data? to get more information about how your Charge 2 syncs.

Hope this clarifies what happened. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Ok.  I'll work on the manual entry.

However, the battery issue remains.  It seems that overnight, it went from holding a 5-day charge to not lasting one day.

What is happening?

I’m having the exact same problem. Completely dead now. Won’t charge before or after it’s dead. This is my second Fitbit with the same problem. Getting very tired of this.

I’m confused what you mean by the “on” button. I have a Charger 3 but there is no “on” button on the side. There is an indentation there but no button. I’m going to try and attach a picture. I can’t get it to charge and have been through all the steps suggested

Same with mine. Barely lasts one day. 😞

The battery seems to last 2, maybe 3 days now but no where near the 5 days just a few weeks ago.  Any other complaints about such a sudden drop in battery life? was it a new software update that screwed with the battery?

The view of the watch is still messed up.  I have not been able to see the time in over a week.  Any suggestions to bring it back?

I've been through these steps dozens of times and it still won't do anything but show me that stupid smiley face! I've had nothing but trouble with this thing since I got it, and I would never recommend this product to anyone.

In the charger, on the left side as you're looking at watch face. What you want to depress is that slight dip in the side of the watch - the same one you press to make it display the time if when it doesn't appear automatically.

TonyBlish - I don't get that "stupid smiley face", but I agree that " I've had nothing but trouble with this thing since I got it".  I am on my fourth Charge 3 tracker - one replaced by Best Buy and two replaced by FitBit.- the fail to recharge issue persists.  I have spent many hours in community forum review and diagnostic chats with support chasing this issue. The thing that amazes me is that my wife bought her Charge 3 two months before me and has never had a problem with hers.  Her charger does not fix my problem.

.

SYMPTOM: After successful initial charge, setup, and firmware update,
Tracker will not recharge and during "long restart" diagnostic procedure
the UI does not display battery icon and there are no vibrations; instead
the UI cycles between "Screen Wake" and "Notifications" and blank screen.
.
DIAGNOSTIC:
https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1799?q=charge&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1
Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable.
The connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and a battery icon appears on the screen.
.
ROOT CAUSE: Cannot establish secure connection between tracker and charging cable - no vibration and no battery.

Hello. I have the exact same issues. No matter what troubleshooting steps I follow, my device won't come on. The smiley face came on for a bit but has not, and the device won't even vibrate any more if I press the side button. Please help!

Hi,

chiming into this. My Charge 3 has stopped charging from one day to the next. No issues at all up to that day. Followed all the instructions on restarting, cleaning and even, while on the charger, reset and reconnected that were posted on this and other threads. Still no success 😞

Any thin else I can do besides giving up and bin it? @MarreFitbit can you help?
Thx for any help

Yeah, I am done with Fitbit.   I am going to buy an Apple Watch today.  My Charge 3 has stopped working all together now.  For the amount of money I paid for that thing, it should last more than 2 years.

I’m thinking the same. Only I will miss having challenges on Fitbit with my friends. But at this point half the time I can’t compete anyway because the watch acts up.

Hello,

My fitbit charge 3 will not charge. I went through all the steps you recommended with no help. I had just finished working out. It’s only a month old. Any suggestions?

thanks
