Charge 3 won't charger nor pair with my phone

I have a brand new Charge 3 that I ordered from Amazon. I can get it to turn on, but it doesn’t charge and when I’m trying to set it up using the app, it continually gives me a screen that says “your batter is too low to continue, please plug in and try again”. It gives me this screen WHILE it is plugged in and, even though I left it to charge properly overnight (I can tell it is properly plugged in the charger because I get the Smiley face and the fitbit.com/setup screen)

I’ve tried restarting it using the side button, and tried cleaning the charger even though it is brand new.
