Charge 3 won't connect to phone's Bluetooth

My charge 3 will not stay connected to Bluetooth. I’ve done all trouble shooting. If I go to Bluetooth and click charge 3 to connect , it will say connected. Then a minute later it’s not connected.its still tracking steps etc but the heart rate on the app is frozen at my average heart rate. Help. Tried everything I know or have read

A user should not be able to connect a Fitbit tracker through the phones Bluetooth. This pairing must be done by the app. 

The tracker doesn't need to show up on the list of trusted devices for a sync to happen. May I ask what is not happening? Does the tracker sync?

While reading your post I was wondering if the issue started updating to iOS 13+? I'd also like to confirm that you've followed the troubleshooting steps provided in the article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

If so, please try the steps below: 

- Open Settings app on phone
- Scroll down, tap Fitbit -> Toggle Location to 'Always'
- Ensure toggles next to Bluetooth and Background App Refresh are turned ON
