Charge 3 won’t connect to the charger

I can’t, for the life of me, get my Fitbit to connect to the charger. It’s been getting more and more difficult to get it connected and charging and now it won’t connect at all. I’ve cleaned both connecting points, without scratching them and have been trying to get the Fitbit on the charger for a good hour now, without any luck. All of the other functions seem to be working fine, everything is being tracked as it always has been. Any ideas?? I’ve ordered a new charger but my Fitbit will die before it gets here. Thanks

Also on the Charge 3, I've found I sometimes I have to slide it back and forth in the charging dock a bit to line up exactly with the charging pins.  It can seem like it is in the dock firmly, but still not be lined up quite right.  Try looking at the pins carefully to line them as close as possible when putting in dock.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Yep, I’ve tried all that. 

 

I’ve always had to slide the charger around a little to get it to connect, but I’ve been at it for a good hour now and every once in a while it will connect for 1 second and the disconnect again. I’ve rebooted it twice, cleaned it, dried it, went around the charging ports with a toothpick, plugged it in to a couple USB ports and different outlets in my house, all with no luck.

thank you for replying. I was hoping to not have to do that since I just got this thing May 24 and it was a lot of money for me.   My next device will be a different brand!
