Hi. I have had my Charge 3 since just before Thanksgiving. A few weeks ago it went spastic for no good reason. The screen kept flashing and vibrating. I've had a tough time getting it back working. I rebooted my Charge 3 and think that maybe I have the spastic condition fixed, but the battery didn't even last 4 hours today. Prior to the episode, it lasted 5-7 days, then boom. Help....please!!!

Hi there @Cnoe5477, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for troubleshooting your Charge 3's battery prior to contacting us.
Before we can move forward to the next steps, can you please confirm if you've followed all the steps I posted here?
Also, I suggest to restart your Charge 3 and then let your device to run out of battery to fully charge it again.
Keep an eye on your tracker's battery behavior and let me know the outcome.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

I have had my Charge 3 less than a year and have had no problems until recently. In fact, I traveled to Japan about two months ago without an external charger and, indeed, the battery held up for a full week! Recently, my HR reading was going crazy, with high readings even when I was sitting down.. On the advice of tech support, I rebooted the unit. HR readings seemed fine.
When I work up the morning after rebooting, I got worried: during my morning run, I realized the device was DEAD. Oh no! But, just in case, I put it back in the external charger. Within a few minutes, I got a reading of 25% power. So, I powered it fully up. By the time I got to work, it was down again to 25%. I recharged again, and it again failed to hold battery life....draining fast. What's going on? I can reboot again, of course, but I am concerned that I have reached the end of the the battery recharge life on this device. Is that possible?

I bought mine around the same time...about a year and it did the same thing. It was vibrating and shutting off and now it won't hold a charge.

Hi,
My charge 3 seems to be having the same issues. I have tried all the suggestions in this thread and still the battery is going dead within a day. I have only had it a couple of months.

I am also having the same issue. The Fitbit went spastic - once it stopped it was not logging my heart rate nor my sleep - now it won't keep a charge for more than 20 mintues...what is wrong?

The one thing I would suggest to others who have had similar problems is, surprisingly, if you can manage to get a little bit of a charge, do a reboot. You can either do this through one of the screens on the Charge 3 itself (left swipe, then several screens under 'settings' icon) or pressing the sides of the Charge 3 for about 8 seconds when it is sitting in the power charger. I had THOUGHT I had rebooted once when I really hadn't. If you really have rebooted properly, you'll see a line appear on the face of the Charge 3 which will increase in length until it basically fills the screen and then you'll see the Fitbit logo reappear. Hope that this helps all of you who are having problems with your Charge 3 not holding a charge, vibrating and showing a flashing screen, not registering any activity, or any other crazy thing that can possibly go wrong.

My Charge3 is doing the same. I've tried everything suggested and mine won't even take a charge from any method after a reboot. What is my next step? If this is not something that can be remedied I probably won't invest in another FitBit product. I started with an Ultra and that eventually died so I upgraded to this Charge. Open to suggestions or next steps .....

I have read through all the posts for this problem. I have tried all the trouble shooting, and nothing has worked. I purchased in October 2019. I paid 139.00 from your site. I'm pissed at this point, can you just replace??? I've done everything and I see by all the complaints about this particular issue!!!

This also happened to my Fitbit. Purchased late November, set up in December. Last week it buzzed/vibrated repeatedly and after that quit working. I've tried resetting and charging. As soon as I take it off charger, it's blacked out and app indicates 1% battery. I've tried this repeatedly, doesn't hold the charge. Just took it off the charger after several hours and it's extremely hot to touch. Yikes, is this thing/battery going to explode??

I've had 4 Fitbits in 7 years!! They seem to last at BEST 2 years! The average is about a 1 to 2 years and then BAM.. They just stop! The one I have now is a Charge 3 and it is now a little over a year old and is not holding a charge!! I am hearing the GARMINS are much better! Will be trying that one next! Done with Fitbit for the price! THEY DO NOT LAST!!

I am experiencing a similar issue. For the last 3 days my Fitbit Charge 3 will go from 100% to 0% in less than 4-5 hours. Used to last for 4-5 days. This morning I also experienced the constant vibrating and it continued for a few minutes, until it died again. I followed the instructions on this post and charged through my laptop usb instead of wall charger, and also tried rebooting a number of times, but the battery still just drains. Please help.

I have recharge & re-synced the device multiple times & the charge lasts less than 5 minutes. I had my tech savvy daughter try it & the exact thing happened. I received this as a gift in Dec 2019. Great product— lasted six months. Very disappointed.
