I no longer receive texts to my charge 3 after i updated my iphone. Should i disconnect charge and reconnect to my phone? Or will an auto update take care of this?

Did see that. But if you click on it, it actually says about people not receiving notifications on their iPhone and iPad. Not the other way round!

Hi @Ashlee87 and @kylejp7, welcome to the Community Forums. I am sorry to hear that you are going through this situation.

Please make sure that your Fitbit app is updated to latest version. Also, as my friend @NellyG mentioned, if you recently updated to iOS 13, you may have to adjust some settings on your iPhone or iPad in order to receive notifications on your Charge 3 again. For more information, see: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

To clarify your last post @Ashlee87, Charge 3 stopped receiving notifications after updating iOS devices to iOS 13. The steps you found in the post linked to the pink banner will help you to receive notifications on your Fitbit.

Give this a go and let us know the outcome.

Try rebooting your phone whenever it stops working.  I know it's a hassle but it has worked for me EVERY time.  Shut it down, wait a few minutes and then restart.  Yes, this fixes the notifications on the Charge 3.

I have done these steps multiple times. Unpaired my device. Rebooted my device. Turned off my phone! None of the suggestions work! I can receive call notifications, not text notifications!

Go to settings > notifications > messages, if the preview option is set to never you will not get messages sent to you Fitbit.

Both my friend and I got charge 3 for Christmas last year. We both updated to the new iOS. He still gets notifications, I don’t.
The difference between us is that I update my charge 3 as they come out and he hasn’t updated his. I know you guys are troubleshooting to resolve the issue and thought that might help.
I am trying to be patient but it is hard when the features that made me want a Fitbit product have not been functioning for this long

Hi there @Joe_dirt, thank you so much for your help. 😉

Hello @Cambria83, welcome to the Community Forums. As mentioned above, if you recently updated to iOS 13, you may have to adjust some settings on your iPhone or iPad in order to receive notifications on your Charge 3 again. In order to do so:

Open the Settings app on your phone and confirm or adjust the following settings:

Bluetooth settings

Verify that Bluetooth is on and that your phone can share system notifications:

  1. On your phone, tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn on Share System Notifications. If you don't the the System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For instructions, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

Notification settings

To see notifications from your phone on your Fitbit device, your phone must receive phone, text, calendar, and app notifications.

  1. On your phone, tap Settings > Notifications.
  2. Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions present.

Out of curiosity.... are Fitbit actually looking into this or just providing steps that are not working? It’s been over a month that this has been happening. This was purely the feature I bought the Fitbit for, for work. It’s pretty much an expensive watch for me at this point?!?

Best Answer

I have done all of the things you have suggested ...multiple times over the last month. It never works.

I agree Fitbit, my charge 2 died so I bought the charge 3. I loved my charge 2 and how all the notifications worked. But my charge 3 still isn’t receiving text. Just like other people have said, I’ve tried your solutions and none of them work. Please resolve the problem!
