Charge 3 won’t stay connected to Bluetooth

Please help!!! My charge 3 will not stay connected to my Bluetooth! I have restarted the Bluetooth on my phone, restarted my phone, restarted the Fitbit! Still the same. I have to go in multiple

times a day to connect and I can’t pair the Fitbit so I get text notifications! I got it as a Christmas gift but have had fitbits in the past... I must say I’m very disappointed in this one so far!

So, I have tried the following method, & so far the Charge 3 has kept the connection for 2 days. So for me this fixed the issue. It’s on an iPhone 6s by the way.

1. Fotget Bluetooth connection of Charge 3 in iPhone settings.

2. Turn off Bluetooth, then back on, on iPhone.

3. Reset the iPhone & Charge 3

4. Once both rebooted, go into Fitbit app & access notifications.

5. Set up notifications in the normal manner.

Thanks, Paul! This did work! As we know, for the time being. I also have a 6s.

Alas! It was fun whilst it lasted! Unfortunately I’ve had to re-pair my Bluetooth connection each morning now for the last 3 mornings! But, there has been an app update, so, you never know! Here’s hoping it’s been fixed in the app!

I have found that if I have more than one device connected to Bluetooth, and the Charge 3 paired with both, then I do lose connectivity...until I turn off one or the other.

I have also had this problem.  While the "solution" works, it doesn't work for very long.

Is fitbit working on fixing this issue?  I didn't have this problem with my previous fitbits.

Are you using the latest app version, 2.86? Since I updated to this one my charge 3 has been pretty stable with the connection.

How do you find your app version? I know I have Charge version 20001.49.45 and I do get automatic updates on my phone, but I don't see where it says 2.86

Hey Vee, this description is for an iPhone 6s.

If you go to settings, then general, then select iPhone storage, this should generate a list of all your apps & how much room they occupy. Scroll down to the Fitbit app (they’re listed in file size not alphabetical!), select the Fitbit app & it will give you the app version at the top of the next screen. Hope this description is clear enough?

Unfortunately I don’t think it is fully fixed, mine is still dropping out, not as frequently though, approx every couple of weeks or so!

It probably says in the actual app somewhere, but I couldn’t find it!

Thank you, Paul! I found it that way. 2.87. I don't see it anywhere on the app itself.

I haven't had the Bluetooth issue since I removed my Garmin, not really a solution though!

It is weird, I would have thought it’d be displayed in the app somewhere!

not sure what’s happened to mine now, but it’s started to drop the connection every couple of days now!

It is in the app, at least for android (can't tell you for apple). If you go to your Account information and scroll down to "help" it will display the app version at the top.

I can’t get my iPhone Bluetooth setting to find my Fitbit Chaege 3 anymore.  It had stopped syncing so I tried everything and then went to forget this device and now it won’t locate my device.  I have been having trouble for days with syncing.

I had the same issue, when I removed the device in an attempt to try to fix the problem.

I eventually restarted my phone and my device and tried again, and it worked.

You can try this and hopefully it works for you.

Hopefully Fitbit will sort this issue out, as this bug seems to be an issue with numerous of their customers and this isn't helping their brand image.
