Please help!!! My charge 3 will not stay connected to my Bluetooth! I have restarted the Bluetooth on my phone, restarted my phone, restarted the Fitbit! Still the same. I have to go in multiple
times a day to connect and I can’t pair the Fitbit so I get text notifications! I got it as a Christmas gift but have had fitbits in the past... I must say I’m very disappointed in this one so far!

Oh my gosh, thank you, THANK YOU!
I too have been going absolutely spare with this issue!
I got my new Charge 3 for Christmas and started having problems syncing about 2 weeks ago. At first it would let me re-sync after resetting the fitbit.
But since then, I have been doing everything suggested and nothing worked:
- turned bluetooth on and off
- forced quit the app
- turned iphone on/off; and then a full iphone reset
- reset the fitbit
- deinstalled/ reinstalled the app
- and tried again and again, but in different orders!
But no matter what, my phone's bluetooth would not find the Charge 3 anymore!
FINALLY, thanks to MarkInCentralTx, I changed the settings (From the dashboard, Top left corner) for All Day Sync On/ Off / back to On… and this seems to have finally “re-set” the bluetooth, and my phone was finally able to see and connect to the fitbit.
All fingers crossed that this will last and will stay connected!
In the meantime, Fitbit ... Please, you do need to fix this bug.

(Edit Notes: 3/23/2019,
1) added ‘restart Fitbit Charge 3 tracker,
2) I should say I typically run the Fitbit App 24/7, with ‘All-Day Sync’ disabled to avoid unnecessary battery drain, and
3) initiate a manual data sync when making the Fitbit app active. )
(Edit Notes: 9/2/2019,
1) Corrected spelling ad grammatical errors,
2) Updated my “Easy” for the last (3.6.2) app version with ‘Today” tab,
2) Reformatted my “Easy” method for clarity ...)

BechC (and others) It’s a known issue with Bluetooth and a Fitbit tracker device connected to multiple hand held devices. You can certainly have the Fitbit app on multiple hand helds (and/or pc’s/Mac’s), to ‘view’ your data, as that ‘communication’ is via an internet connection with Fitbit servers and your mobile device/PC/Mac. I’ve found fewer Fitbit tracker device ‘sync’ problems when Bluetooth connecting to one, and only one hand held. In my case this my iPhone as it’s with me most of the time. Choose one that is best for you and use it as the ‘sync’ source.
When I have Bluetooth connectivity/sync issues, and when the mobile device cannot ‘find’ or ‘connect’ to the fitbit tracker, that aren’t resolved by these other means:
1) iPhone Bluetooth manipulations (e.g. Bluetooth off/on; Fitbit ‘forget this device’, etc.... ), or
2) iPhone restarts, or
3) restart Fitbit Charge 3 tracker, or
4) delete and reinstall Fitbit app, BUT only as a last resort ...
A faster and easier solution that works for me, is to:
- Open Fitbit app; Tap on “user picture” (upper left corner ”Today” screen);
- Tap on tracker device; Scroll down to and enable ‘ALL-DAY SYNC’.
This action forces the iPhone and app to look for the Fitbit tracker, initiating the Bluetooth setup protocol.
- Say yes to start this action.
I now am syncing, and again see dynamic HR in the app, and get notification and any alarms on my Fitbit device again.
I much prefer this method to deleting and reinstalling the app and avoiding a potential loss of data due to a failure to properly sync.
Hope this helps some of y’all ...
I believe this is a Fitbit Charge 3 device firmware problem, requiring a firmware fix and update, and not truly a mobile device, Bluetooth or Fitbit app problem.
What say you Fitbit?

There is something in the bluetooth communications protocol, in either the device (my thoughts), or the app (less likely as the same app works with multiple devices) ... although with that said, it could be the Charge 3 device specific app settings that are not exploiting the Bluetooth protocols properly or are creating conflicts. Either way, Fitbit development folks need to address this issue.

Ugh! Well, so much for that! Fitbit stopped syncing, yet AGAIN! So that lasted less than 24 hours.

I agree with being disappointed with the Charge 3. Mine also keeps disconnecting from bluetooth, the screen stays on the heartrate and also no notifications of texts!

Not sure you are on android or not. If so try this. Android aggressive battery optimisation can cause Bluetooth to shut down. https://youtu.be/Z0iqx-l3cMg

Thanks, I did all of the above the last time I had the issue, and removing / deleting device from phone and then reinstalling, then restarting phone seemed to do the trick. I lost data. I'm not keen on doing that again and now I have the issue again with syncing.
Last update was on Sunday.
I think it's time Fitbit came to the party and resolved this issue or refunded their customers, as this device is not doing what I paid for it to do.

FWIW I was never made aware of any solution from Fitbit. The only "fix" for me was when I upgraded my phone totally unrelated to these issues (I had actually gotten so use to the feature not working, it took me awhile to readjust once it was paired with a new phone). I had an iPhone6s and now have the iPhone X

Solved !! I had setup & connection issues for a few days until I deleted my old Fitbit One on my account. Has worked perfectly since! I had tried everything... Reinstalling the app, rebooting the fitbit, deleting/re-pairing on bluetooth.

get to the clock and swipe left three times -> go to Settings -> scroll to the bottom and select the 'About' option -> scroll to the bottom and Reboot Device is there. I HATED trying to use the stupid press the button while it is on the charger option - PITA!!

Thank you, Brub! So far so good.
I had my original Fitbit 1 still linked to my account, though I hadn't synced it in over a year. (There was the notification icon for a firmware update for the Fitbit 1.) I deleted it from my account since I'm no longer using it. Almost instantaneously with disconnecting, my phone informed me it had connected with my Charge 3 and I got the green connection icon on the home page within the app, just above the battery icon in the upper right.
It even seems to work with my Galaxy Gear S3 Smartwatch connected to my Galaxy S8 at the same time.

I don't know what is going on with this stupid charge 3, but it will not atay synced to my phone. Once it geta unsynced I cannot get it to sync again for days. Currently it has not been synced to the phone since July 1st. I have tried all the tricks to get it to stmc and mothing works. Is there a solution to this problem. Had a charge 2band necer had this problem.

I agree completely that this is a firmware and/or app issue. If "Always Connected" and/or "All Day Sync" are turned on in the app when the connection fails, then at the next synchronization interval the app should initiate a new connection to the Charge 3. I don't know if the app is currently set up that way or not. If it is, then the issue is either in the firmware or in the protocol used to communicate between the app and the Charge 3.
One thing I have noticed is that updating the clock face from the Fitbit app almost always works AND after the face update is complete, synchronization works again. I'm guessing the face update initiates a new Bluetooth connection which is then used for synchronization until the next failure. The process invoked here could be used to maintain the "Always Connected" status.
Fitbit developers: I know this doesn't solve the core issue of "what is causing the disconnect." However, it does provide a workaround that will keep the Charge 3 community happy until the root cause is found and fixed.

I’ve had the same problem, I’ve tried my charge 3 on an iPhone 5s, SE, 6s and on my android tablet. I believe the issue is with the Charge itself... I wish I’d have known about this issue before wasting my money...

I am quite frustrated also. My phone can find my watch but will not connect anymore. I wish they could find a solution for this very obvious problem.
