Charge 3 won’t sync and won’t pair after removing it

I know there are only like 3 people that have this device right now, but if anyone else that has it can check...is yours syncing ok? Mine last synced 4 hours ago and when trying to force a manual sync it wouldn’t get past “looking.” I tried the usual fixes - turning bluetooth off and on, removing the C3 from the app and my phone and attempting to re-add it, power cycling my phone...nothing works. The user manual says to press the side button for 8 seconds to reset, but all that does is bring up the screen wake/notifications toggle screen. Just issues due to it being new/unreleased, or is it possible it crapped out on me already?!

I ended up deleting the app and re-installing it. Seems to be pairing better now/getting notifications. Hopefully that continues.

Thanks will give it a try nothing else has worked and there is so little accurate data there is no real loss of information. When I get time I am going to try and get them to replace this junk. They will not give a refund after 45 days.

The app on the phone isn’t receiving data from the watch. I have to reset the watch to get it to upload data.

I'm having the same issue. I haven't contacted help desk but I am tired of having to completed repair it from scratch. It's ridiculous. I did not pay my hard earned money for this headache. I just want the stuff I paid for to work right!

My problem has resolved. None of the suggested solutions helped but then
it just corrected itself. I don't use the all day sync option though.

Welcome to the Community as well @xPIXLx, could you please confirm if you're still having trouble with your Charge 3 not syncing? And if you've already given a try to the steps mentioned previously in this thread, or in the help article to resolve syncing problems?   

 

Also, let me know if you're using a compatible mobile device to sync your device.

@DaveFitbit, I am still having the issue. I've tried all of the steps, restarted my phone, restarted the device, restarted bluetooth. Lastnight I synced it at 850pm after mowing the lawn. I did not change any settings and did not touch either of them until this morning when I tried to sync to see my sleep patterns. I do all of these steps and it works for about 3 days, then I run into problems again. This is very frustrating and I'm tired of dealing with it.

I'm having huge problems trying to get my charge 3 to sync. I've tried everything, had several new devices sent and still it won't sync with either my phone or laptop. I've tried deleting and reloading the app, turning Bluetooth off and on, turning the device off and on, rebooting, shutting all down and starting from scratch - nothing works. It all started with the update on the fitbit C3, it was fine before. Seems like a lot of people are having the same problem.

Same here. NEVER have gotten text notifications to work. Synch is a hit or miss thing. Sometimes it works and other times I have to reboot the watch and reload the app on the iPhone. At some point someone said it was a conflict with too many bluetooth pairings. I can almost believe that as mine will synch when away from home but not as easily at home where I have several items on bluetooth.

I've tried taking all other bluetooth off my laptop and it still won't sync. Sick of it now, whatever they did with the last update made a huge problem. It was fine until I clicked on the update, with the exception of once it hasn't worked since.

Have you tried putting it on charge pressing the side button for 8 seconds until smiley face appears

I feel a bit sorry for the people who work there to be honest. It's a technical problem that needs sorting. They should recall the lot until they've solved it. Terrible product, staff are trying.

David, I gave up, I bought a Garmin highly recommend it. Seem less and it does a better job tracking steps and sleep

After hours of screwing around with this, trying the same recommended steps, over and over, this step, which I thankfully found on your post, did the trick!!

4. On the Charge 3, scroll over to "settings" on the actually fitbit. Select "About" and "Clear User" then "Reboot".

Unfortunately nothing has worked for me. I can't sync. The Fitbit charge 3 won't even display correct date. I have a Moto e5plus.
