Charge 3 won't sync or connect

Hi, 

 

I've had my charge 3 for just over a year with no problems and I was loving everything about it.. 

Since Nov 2020 it hasn't been syncing properly so after trying everything I could I decided that I would have to just suck it up, loose over a years worth of tracking data and set everything up as a new device.. 

I have uninstalled the app, rebooted the fitbit device, reinstalled the app and now I am trying to reconnect via Bluetooth and after putting in the 4 digit number it just keeps saying its taking longer than expected..  This message stayed up for over an hour.. So I've gone through the whole process again..

I've uninstalled all other Bluetooth devices but it still keeps saying 'this is taking longer than expected but we're on it'

This is getting extremely frustrating now!

Hi @AJSwanderer, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I totally understand how you feel about the syncing issues that your Charge 3 has experienced. By the way, thank you for trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

 

I'd like you to try one more workaround, which has been helpful for this type of issues. Try a long restart. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable. 
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds. 
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration. 
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur. 
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.
  8. After this, try the setup process one more time and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

i only got 4 vibrations and then a smiley face    Will try to sync again

I did that.   got 4 vibrations and then happy face.   retried.   does not find fitbit     i have iphone 12mini

This is not working on my Charge 3.  I am not able to get any of the Vibrations you are talking about.  Please help unable to sync spend hours watching my phone and charge 3 trying to reconnect my tracker.  When it does give me a number to connect. it gives me an x before I can even type the number in. I have to enter 20 or more numbers before it takes.  I have to do this every day.   Please let me know what to do.  I have tried everything that has been suggested on these forums.   I am ready to look for a different tracker.
