Welcome to the Community Forums @jTHORh85! At this moment Samsung Galaxy S10 is not yet a supported device with the Fitbit app. To see the list of supported devices, check: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

While a phone or tablet may not be verified as fully compatible, the Fitbit app may still work with your device. Our team routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models.

You can always take a look at the help articles: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? or Why won't I sync my Fitbit device?

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

Let me know if there's anything else I may assist you with.

Well, then how do I go about returning this and getting a refund? The
device is already very inaccurate on the readings and now since it won't
sync with my device, it's basically useless

make sure you unpair your Charge 3 from any other mobile or laptop devices. Then attempt to pair again to the new S10.  Also check all the phone App Permission settings and make sure the Fitbit app has location and all other permissions enabled in Android 9.  Some devices also implement aggressive battery management so check your battery optimization settings to make sure your phone is NOT optimising Fitbit (this is counter intuitive as 'not optimising' actually means Fitbit can do what it wants, when it needs to without the phone battery manager interfering).  In the Fitbit app also enable the Keep Alive and All Day Sync for your Charge 3.

Another thought... I think the S10 range of devices let your phone connect to 2 paired Bluetooth devices at any one time. So if your phone if connected to your earbuds/headphones and also actively connected to something else, fitbit app can't connect at that moment to sync your Charge 3.  In that case you may see a message  'Can't connect' or 'Your sync has been scheduled.' or something similar.  My mobile has been paired at one time or another to a bunch of other Bluetooth devices (portable speakers, TV sound bar, headphones, etc) and sometimes connects (or hasn't disconnected from an earlier session) to devices in the Bluetooth list and uses up the 2 permitted simultaneous connections.  If this is a regular issue you may be able to increase to 3 simultaneous active connections if you can get to Developer settings on your device. I was able to increase to 3 connections this way.  But 2 active connections should be okay in most scenarios.

Not sure these will work for you, but they did for me on another 'not yet listed' flagship device.

Oh, and once you have everything working perfect, I'd suggest turning off Auto Update Apps in your Play Store settings. Then you can manually review updates for your apps. Yes, it's another step but with Fitbit or other finnicky apps you can then wait and see if there are issues posted on the Android App forum here before you update the app of install new firmware for your Charge 3.

I tried 10 or 12 times before i got a connection.

I had to remove the app restart the phone, reinstall the app, log in and then disconnect the internet, search for the Charge 3, find it and punch in the code, reconnect to the internet and leave it all alone for 8-10 minutes and suddenly there was a connection.

It runs now but I have lost yesterdays data.

Having same problem. Will s10 work with fit bit soon? I use fit bit zip. It wont pair at all.

i have the same issue. On my old galaxy s6 i didn't have to pair the zip. The s10 would never sync, and once i tried to pair it with the zip..same thing. Nada.

Software doesn't support it. Shame. Now i'm going to have to find the dongle and load through my computer. Inconvenient. Hopefully fitbit techies will get this fixed soon.

I had the same issue. Got my new S10 and couldn't get it to find my fitbit zip at all. I eventually got it to connect by removing the battery from the zip and replacing it, but it loses the connection after a few hours and only taking the battery out again seems to work. I'm going to try some of the suggestions, including checking the S10 optimization settings and making sure it is delinked from my old phone and see if that works.

Good luck. I've done everything suggested. Using Samsung health now in place of fit bit. It was preloaded on phone.

Is there a time frame on when this (Charge 3) will be compatible with the Galaxy S10? I've had my fitbit about 3 months now but If it's going to be awhile before it's compatible i may have to go to the Galaxy Watch Active.
Thanks

After 6 phone calls to Fitbit because my S10 would not sync, I was told Fitbit has not tested this new device yet and can not say when/if it will be compatible.  So disappointing.

I can connect my s10+ fine to my blaze. but it doesn't stay connected when on a run for more than 2 mins, and if i open the app it has to sync rather than syncing all day - really annoying !! so i'll have to buy a different one as my blaze is practically useless !

I use the Zip. It was only $75,  but it's my 2nd one. The Samsung app will keep my step count,  but I'm not allowed to have phone at work. Pretty annoying that fit bit is so behind!!

Thanks for the info. I actually have a Charge 2 and I found a setting that no one at Fitbit asked me to check. I changed it and now I am receiving notifications!

My Versa will sync but I have to turn on and off the bluetooth every time to get it to work. That's disappointing that the S10s aren't compatible yet....

Do you see a update coming soon?

Best Answer

Don't know when an update might be coming, but as a short-term solution I am syncing using my windows laptop and the Fitbit windows app. Not nearly as convenient as syncing using a phone, but it at least buys some time while waiting for Fitbit to fix the problem.

I was able to get my Zip to sync but it only sync's once.

If you turn off bluetooth and pull the battery from the zip. Then turn bluetooth back on and put battery back in zip while running the first sync and it should pair.

The problem is you have to go through this process for every new sync.

I'll probably go through the process once a week so I can at least keep my stats.
