Charge 3 won't sync, won't pair after deletion

My Charge 3 started having trouble syncing data. After reading through the forums I:

 

  • Rebooted phone and Fitbit
  • Removed Bluetooth connection
  • Removed device from my Fitbit profile

Upon trying to re-pair my Charge 3 with my phone, I get as far through the process as inputting the 4-digit PIN but this just flashes up briefly on my Charge's screen before an "x" in a circle appears, which then invalidates the pairing process.

 

Massively frustrating as I have only had the device for 9 months. Also disheartening to see so many issues listed on the forum with Charge 3 devices, just as the Charge 4 is released...
