Hi, @Kyoddie it is possible that the altimeter (which you can identify by a small hole on the side of your device) could be blocked by dust or sweat. If so it can be cleaned gently with rubbing alcohol and allowed to dry. Please do not insert anything sharp into the hole.
Also please note that it is designed to detect flights (or flight equivalent) of at least 10 feet, which may very well be higher than a domestic stair. To test your altimeter it is recommended that you go to a commercial building, perhaps a mall, etc, and try climbing two flights of stairs, moving continuously, and checking whether your Fitbit has detected your climb.

This happened with my Charge 4, the altimeter was still working, but it stopped logging stair flights. I figured out it was due to a recent update that I was unable to back off. I had to find another new Charge 4 on Ebay, because the Charge 5 & 6 no longer have altimeters, and then refuse every prompt to update the tracker, in order to get the floor count reporting again. Sure hope they wise up and restore the altimeter feature to any newer version of the Charge.
