Charge 3 won't turn on or charge

My fitbit was charged the night of the 17th. Then, midway of the 18th, I noticed the screen wouldn't respond. Nothing happened when connecting it to the charge cable and outlet... When I would press to restart, it would vibrate continuously.  left it for several hours. Came back to see the screen was now responding, but battery was down to 18%. I left it to charge but when I returned this morning, 6/19, the device was back to not responding and the green light on the back was now off.

 

The device was not wet, the components of the charger and fitbit are clean and it was not wet.

 

Has this happened to anyone else?
