Charge 3 won’t turn on

Charge 3 got it last night was working fine all day and I looked down at my wrist it was black so I figured it was just dead ...plug it in and it won’t vibrate turn on or show me any sign that it’s charging ?!

Try restarting it.  Put it on the charger and follow the instructions. Let us know how you go

I have this exact problem. I tried plugging it in, and it won't even vibrate. The screen just stays black when it's plugged in. Tried to leave it plugged in for an hour so see if it might turn back on and all that happened was it got hot. There is no indication that it's charging at all, so I cannot reset it. I would call your support line but they're not open now.

The same problem.

My Charge 3 is updated with the last firmware. 

 

Can't restart. Can't wake up.

I have to wait for the battery to be depleted so that the device would restart.

One thing I found is that it’s VERY easy to not put the Charge 3 into the charger properly and so contact isn’t made with the charging contacts.

 

To get it in properly you have to open the charger clips as much as possible and then put the Charge 3 in. I was constantly only half opening them and, although my Charge 3 would fit in, it wasn’t quite in properly so wouldn’t charge.

I'm sure that position was Ok. Battery was about 70%.  Are you with last firmware 28.20001.31.85?  Do you have a problem with device restart?

Yes I have the latest firmware. Only time I can’t restart it is when I haven’t fitted it into the charger properly.

It’s the haptic “button” on the left side of the Fitbit

So just an update I received a Fitbit charge 3 as a gift Wednesday wore it for no longer than 4 hrs and I look down it’s boack but the back thing is blinking green so I figure it’s iust dead go on lunch connect it to the charger and nothing ... no vibration. No light . No sound . Nothing ....but the green thing on the back is still blinking . That’s why I returned it .... default I guess ? Wore this new one for 24 hrs working great and I love it

I'm having the same issue! I literally got mine last night and only wore it for about 12 hrs. This morning it was unresponsive to touch. Fitbit App says its battery is full and when I try to access the apps/settings it says "Unable to connect to Charge 3..". I connected it to the charger and it doesn't even vibrate (tried connecting it multiple times to ensure proper connection is made).

Super disappointed 😞

Thanks so much for your help @seantnash! For both of you @Milissas and @Knightmare, to test the screen: 

 

  1. While the screen is blank, verify the device vibrates when you presses the button.
  2. Verify the screen turns on when you plug the device into the charger.
  3. Restart their device by following every single step below:
  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. 
  4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

My charge 3 won’t turn on and is not syncing it’s stuck with a green light flickering at the back of the watch that’s all I’m getting. The button is also unresponsive

Hi that happened to me and my charger wasn’t working in the outlet I had it in. I changed plugs and it started charging. I have no idea what happened but it is working now. Try changing to a different outlet. Good luck

Same thing has happened to mine. Was working when I went to sleep last night - now won’t turn on and green light flashing on back. It has 100% battery. Seems like a huge problem with this model. I am returning!
