Over the past week I noticed my Charge 3 display was dimmer than usual. Got worse over ensuing days, then completely died this morning. Had checked on various Fitbit Community posts, and availed myself of all possible solutions, including long reset, etc., but to no avail.
The fading / dead display seems to be a very common problem with Charge 3. My major annoyance is this: Only 14 months into a 24 month warranty, but when I returned it to the place of purchase this afternoon, not only was a repair / replacement not possible, as the Charge 3 has been discontinued, I had to pay the difference in price to get a Charge 4.
To add insult to injury, Charge 4 only come with Black or 'Rosewood' (muddy purple) casings, where my Charge 3 was a lovely rose gold color. Under the circumstances, I would NOT recommend Fitbit products to anyone, due to inferior product quality, and poor customer satisfaction regarding warranty replacement.
