Charge 3 wristband won't stay snapped to fitbit

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

One side of my Charge 3 wristband does not stay snapped to the fitbit. You usually have to push the small tab to get the wristband disconnected but on mine, just a light pull and it will come off. Seems to be getting worst. This is going to cause me to lose it. What can be done to solve this problem?

Thanks

Probably the pin that needs to hold the strap is stuck in pressed position.

Here are the steps you can follow to fix this issue.

  • The latch pin is help by two #2 Star Screws. I purchased a Royace precision multifunction Screwdriver set 119 pieces on Amazon as I didn't have a #2 Screwdriver.
  • Removed the screws.
  • There will be two plastic pieces and a small spring. Be careful not to loose the spring.
  • Take the plastic parts and cleaning to remove and dust, soap n gunk that is on these pieces.
  • Clean the side of fitbit.
  • Once everything is clean and the latch that is freely moving . Put the spring and assemble the parts.
  • Put the #2 screws back.
  • Tools you need: #2 Star Screwdriver, Tweezers to hold spring and screws, brush and a sharp blade to thoroughly clean the plastic parts.

This happens when dirt gets into the catch. I take off my bands then take a soft bristle toothbrush with a bit of soap and scrub the catches on the side of the fit bit. I do this while holding it under a slow trickle of water and gently pulsing the button up and down. I work outdoors so I get a lot of dirt, sweat, body oil in there. So far this has been a good solution for me
